A Pair of Wings

In the south there are birds that share one wing,

That fly, perch, drink, and feed,

Never parting from each other.

Even in death, they come back to life,

And must be together in one place.

A note from the author:

This is my first danmei story. It's set against the background of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and is basically a story about two birds that share one wing...

The subject matter and writing style are both things I like, but I guess they won't suit mainstream tastes, so I don't expect comments or favorites. If you like it, leave a few words as encouragement. I'll reply to every comment. I'm writing this story entirely for my own enjoyment, so aside from promising not to abandon it, I can't really guarantee anything else. Please read with that in mind...
