The Wife Comes First

Jiang Zhijing was the youngest and cutest child in the family, the apple of the entire Jiang family's eye.

Then she unexpectedly learned that the world she lived in was one giant storybook, and its protagonist was the wife she was about to marry!

And she herself was an extraordinarily tragic, super-duper tragic cannon-fodder character.

In the story, she resented the emperor's arranged marriage, and so came to hate her newlywed wife as well.

After the wedding, she neglected her wife in every way, going off to drink and carouse with friends and relatives. As a result, her wife died of depression not long after joining the household.

Later, when the new emperor took the throne, she was the first person he punished!

She was thrown into prison and subjected to every kind of torture, then dragged to the marketplace and hacked to pieces in front of a crowd!

Jiang Zhijing, who had been pampered and raised so carefully that she had never so much as scraped a knee, woke from the nightmare in a cold sweat. Immediately afterward, a maid came to announce that the emperor had arranged a marriage for her.

Her nightmare was coming true!

Thinking of the ending in the storybook, Jiang Zhijing broke out in a cold sweat.

She secretly vowed that this time, she would never make the same mistakes again!

Qingqing would treat her wife well and study hard!

That way, when the new emperor took the throne, she could ask him for permission to divorce and help her wife find a better husband!

But for some reason, the timid, pitiable wife from the storybook kept teasing her until her face turned bright red, and even became the new emperor.

Qi He (as emperor): I heard Qingqing wants to divorce me?

Jiang Zhijing, hands and feet bound (shaking her head frantically): How could that be, baby? You're the one I love most!
