The Ultimate Office Drone Turns into a Zombie

You’ve spent so long sitting in an office that you become one of the first zombies in the horde.

Your legs can’t run, and your shoulders can’t carry a thing.

Dancing zombies squeeze through little windows, rock-climbing zombies scale buildings, and you can’t even get a bite of human flesh.

Five years go by like this.

You carry a box out of the building and come across a group of ability users sitting in a truck, beating their chests and howling like gorillas as they fire their guns into the sky.

The unhinged ability users and the cold, indifferent zombie pass each other by.

You watch the truck drive away, then watch it back up.

The passenger-side window rolls down, and you see a man wearing sunglasses.

Your ex-boyfriend, a music guy and a lunatic. You broke up because his personality was awful.

Back then, he wouldn’t stop asking why, so you made up an excuse: “You’re not from here, and my mom wants me to marry someone local.”

Now he takes off his sunglasses and looks at you coldly. The “gorillas” in the truck fall silent.

“Hah. Long time no see. You’ve turned into a zombie,” the man says sarcastically. “Still picky about locals?”

“I’m not picky anymore,” you say calmly.

You see a hint of disappointment on the handsome face behind the sunglasses.

“I’m a zombie now,” you say. “I’m picky about ‘local corpses.’”

Your ex-boyfriend immediately starts cursing up a storm.

The good news: since turning into a zombie, your ex-boyfriend smells delicious. You’re kind of drooling.

The bad news: your ex-boyfriend is a hopeless romantic, so even zombies don’t eat him.

P.S. The main story is written in third person.
