So It Was Wuxia After All!

Free-spirited, enthusiastic puppy-like childhood friend × strange, eccentric stray-cat childhood friend

Jiang Xiaoyun was born one winter.

A roof made of tiles, pillars painted red, and a wooden sign reading "Laishun Inn."

Oh, got it. I've transmigrated.

For the first five years, Jiang Xiaoyun would gather her energy and breathe in the spiritual energy of heaven and earth in the middle of winter, her nose running.

She had a cold for a month. No one came to take her in as a disciple, and no fluttering-sleeved fairy appeared. This wasn't a cultivation world.

For the next five years, Jiang Xiaoyun balanced a book on her head and sat with perfect posture, waiting for a mysterious man in black to take her into the palace, where she would return as a triumphant heroine.

Her father chased her with a rolling pin. She even imagined she wasn't his real daughter.

For the next five years, Jiang Xiaoyun finally saw the light and decided this was a world of ghosts and spirits. No wonder they had to close up shop at ten every night.

She stayed up late, hiding in the courtyard instead of going to bed, and actually saw a ghost.

A dark shadow vaulted over the wall and crashed straight into Jiang Xiaoyun. They both groaned in pain.

A pair of bright black eyes twinkled in the dark.

Jiang Xiaoyun was quick to yank off his face covering.

Her childhood friend's face appeared before her.

Jiang Xiaoyun was shocked. "Gousheng, what are you doing here?"

Han Xiaodao's face twisted. He fumbled around before pulling a warm flatbread from his shirt. "Want some flatbread?"

Jiang Xiaoyun and Han Xiaodao split the flatbread, and Xiaodao tossed the bloody corner into the courtyard.

The flatbread was just a little salty. They sat on the roof and ate it together under the moon.

Jiang Xiaoyun thought, So this is a martial arts world!

No wonder Dad's spankings hurt so much!
