Yu Jue, the Director of the Eastern Depot, is a powerful figure and a renowned name in the capital.
There are only two kinds of eunuchs in this world: those cursed behind their backs, and those cursed to their faces. He became a third kind: no one dares curse him, because those who do are dead.
Yu Jue is sinister and ruthless. Everyone trembles at the mention of his name, which is said to be enough to stop a child from crying at night.
Naturally, no one dares provoke him.
Yet this fearsome figure was once caught by the hem of his robe on a cold, rainy night.
Yu Jue wondered who it was. At a glance, he saw it wasn't a person, but a short-legged little white fox.
He kicked the little fox away, and from that day on, it clung to him.
It didn't just cling to him, it could also take human form. And not only could it turn into a person, it tried every way it could to seduce him, a eunuch...!
.
Yuanhua is a fox. One day, a group of people tried to skin her and make a fox-fur cloak, so she hurriedly fled into someone else's residence.
Full of vengeful determination, Yuanhua decides to follow the example of other fox spirits and seduce a high-ranking official, giving the person who wanted to skin her a good dose of revenge!
But after she transforms into a beautiful woman, with snowy skin and striking looks, and tries every kind of seductive trick, she still can't win the official's heart for even a moment. She is furious.
She thinks of countless possible reasons. Maybe her seduction skills aren't good enough, or maybe she's not beautiful enough to be a temptress.
It never occurs to her that the man is a eunuch!
Well... a eunuch is fine, too.
1. The heroine is a fox, and her way of thinking isn't quite like an ordinary person's.
2. A real eunuch.
This is primarily a romance. Everything in the plot serves the love story.

Coming soon: A Collection of Short Stories About Men of Humble Desires, featuring real eunuchs
Story One: Mandarin Ducks Brocade
He was passing through the red-light district on an errand when he saw a pitiful young woman. He paid one tael of silver to buy her freedom. She said she had nowhere to go, and out of kindness, he took her in.
He often fell ill, and she said she was attentive enough to care for him.
He was always away from home, and she said she was afraid of thunder and rain.
“He was so good, good to everyone. So I gave him a quilt of mandarin-duck brocade and married him. From then on, he could only be good to me,” she said.
“You're a wretch, missing a piece below the waist. I'm a wretch too, with a piece of my body sullied. We're a perfect match, aren't we?” she said.
“You are not,” he said.
Story Two: Bright Moon
She wasn't the daughter of a powerful official or a cherished member of the imperial family. She was just an ordinary girl, the youngest daughter of a low-ranking ninth-grade official. And yet she caught the eye of the current Grand Eunuch.
She told him that kind, warm love did exist in this world.
So, for the sake of her words, he put on a performance, pretending to be innocent and pitiful.
Eunuchs groveled, officials fawned, and the people reviled him.
Only she said to him, “You're so pitiful. Can I pat you?”
Story Three: The Phoenix Stage
At first, she was an actress with a beautiful singing voice. There was always a clean-shaven, pale-faced lord watching from below.
Later, she learned that the lord was the infamous Director of the Western Depot.
The Director paid to buy a night with her.
She smiled. “Director, I'm only an actress.”
He smiled too. “And I'm only paying you to put on a play for one night.”
The stage was smashed, and the theater was wrecked.
With nowhere else to turn, she heard those words again: “The play with the jade inlay was lovely. I'll buy you.”
Story Four: Pure Light
She was a wandering martial artist. As soon as she began her travels, she took a lucrative job: kill a man and bring back his head. They said the job would be difficult, but money makes the world go round, so she went anyway.
On a bleak, rainy night, one strike of her sword severed the dragon embroidery on his sleeve. Only then did she realize she had just struck the head of the Western Depot.
Story Five: How Deep It Runs
When the master rises to power, the master's dog barks all the louder.
That's her.
She's mean and stingy. People call her a social climber and a toady.
At the side of a favored consort, she seems just as fierce. Unfortunately, she chose the wrong person. When her mistress falls from power, she should fall with her.
But when they came to seize her, someone let her go.
She was lucky, and she felt guilty.
Because she had once given a eunuch a piece of steamed bun.
That bun had only been a way to chase a dog away.
But she never knew that all he wanted was the bun in her hand, because she looked down on him.
Theme: Protect animals, cherish life
