A Eunuch's Heart

As the eldest princess, Ji Yaoe was naturally sent away in a political marriage. She coughed up blood and died on the journey, only learning at the very end that the marriage had been a conspiracy devised for her sake.

Heaven took pity on her, and she was reborn.

Ji Yaoe sought out her closest family and begged everyone for help, but not a single person stood up for her. Later, she spotted a proud flash of red beside her younger brother.

People said the red on his clothes was not a bright, vivid red, but the blood of the Asura, the King of Hell, stained with the lives of countless people.

Yet she saw him as mud beneath her feet, a piece on her chessboard.

And yet, the Asura people spoke of was the very Grand Eunuch Lin Qi who personally escorted her back to the capital.

And yet, on the high platform, Lin Qi, once so willful and cruel, bent his back and offered the eldest princess his hand, bowing his head in submission.

.

Ji Yaoe was a wisp of wind, impossible to catch or hold, liable to scatter at any moment. Lin Qi could only gaze at her with utmost care, as if looking up at the bright moon, and worship her as a deity.

She wanted him to kneel, and he touched his forehead to the ground.

She wanted him to be her subject, and he would give his life for her.

She wanted his life, and he would cut open his chest and tear out his heart.
