Kawakami Ryusei was unquestionably the center of attention at school.
His family was influential, he excelled in his studies, he was skilled in music, and he was gentle and kind.
More importantly, he had a face that inspired awe and infatuation in everyone, regardless of age or gender.
Someone like him had nothing in common with a creature lurking in the sewers.
One day, Yuta found an exquisite handkerchief embroidered with the name “Ryusei,” only for the group of people who liked to pick on him to accuse him of stealing it.
Ridicule, taunts, insults, beatings...
When Yuta came to, the ground before him was once again stained red.
The difference this time was that the handkerchief's owner was silently watching from the classroom doorway.
“Wait! No... Rika, don't kill him!!”
That brilliant golden hair fell heavily into the blood, too.
The next day, Yuta, who had spent the whole night awake with dark circles beneath his eyes, still entered the classroom, ready to face everyone's judgment and punishment.
But that familiar, clear, gentle voice rang out in the classroom once more.
“The handkerchief? I gave it to Yuta.”
Those eyes, empty and lifeless the night before, now looked toward the horrified figure frozen in the doorway as if nothing had happened, a captivating smile on his face.
“After all, Yuta and I are ‘good friends’ who could die together.”
Kawakami Ryusei was a descendant of the Special Grade Imaginary Vengeful Spirit “Kawakami Tomie,” inheriting his ancestor's peerless beauty.
But the power that once drove people mad with love had instead become a fatal magnet for curses.
From childhood onward, Kawakami Ryusei had been killed countless times by curses infatuated with him, only to revive each time from a pile of body parts.
Helpless, he had to keep transferring schools so that the people around him wouldn't grow suspicious.
At last, he arrived at a school where curses and sorcerers were both scarce. He never expected that this was because an even more terrifying presence existed there.
“Rika?”
Kawakami Ryusei rose deftly from the pool of blood. A few bright red drops stained his gentle, elegant face, making his beauty even stranger and more dangerous, vivid and dazzling.
He remembered the girl from his childhood who had watched him come back to life amid scattered severed limbs without feeling the slightest fear.
“Liar. You said we'd play together, but then you fell in love with someone else...”
Reader's notes:
1. On conservative JJ, we're committed to a one-on-one pairing.
2. Yuta × Ryusei
3. I want to write a short, sweet little story (probably). The main plot will likely play a fairly small part.
4. Blurb written on 24.09.25.
5. I'll add more if anything comes to mind. The blurb may change, but the core setting and the Yuta pairing won't.
Theme: Love can bring everything.
