A large-scale immersive experience game, promoted with the gimmick of "simulated life," has been all the rage lately.
Lu Chen Can decided to get it too.
Set in a completely fictional modern city, the game tasks its protagonist with building the greatest city of all: turning City B into a perfect metropolis with a 1% crime rate, 90% cleanliness, and 100% happiness.
There are four starting professions:
Star, police officer, mayor, and detective.
He decided to try them all, opening four save files. Three of them ended in epic bad endings that would have people on the forums shouting, "You can do that in this game?"
As a merciless skip-button masher, Lu Chen Can stared in confusion at the glaring red "Locked" label on his save file, completely unable to figure out what had happened.
On his first playthrough, he became a star and earned the [Voice of the World] achievement. Hailed as the only light in a dark world, he still managed to leave the crime rate at a staggering 80%.
In the end, while singing at the world's biggest concert, he was shot dead on the spot by an obsessive fan, earning himself a merciless bad ending.
On his second playthrough, he became a police officer and earned the [Darkness Thrives Beneath the Sun] achievement. Called a lone wolf walking in the darkness, he managed to bring down the crime rate, but happiness was only at 50%.
In the end, during an undercover operation, he was caught in an explosion and blown to pieces while saving a partner, landing himself a bad ending.
On his third playthrough, he became mayor and earned the [Last Torchbearer] achievement. Hailed as a savior with justice flowing through his veins, he kept both the crime rate and happiness at stable, normal levels.
Then a crisis struck. He was imprisoned, and in the end, burdened with infamy, he plunged from a high-rise to prove his innocence, reluctantly getting a bad ending.
At the end of his tether, Lu Chen Can pinned his hopes on the last save file. This time, he would become a detective... and never skip a thing again!
You don't know until you try it, and then it blows your mind.
It turned out that every NPC he'd met in the game was connected to a crime!
What's more, every one of them looked at him like a hellhound, their gazes tangled with desire and hatred, as if they wanted to devour him whole!
The newly appointed detective gave a cold laugh. Whoever came at him got taken down and thrown straight into prison!
Get lost, criminals!
[Content Warnings]
1. The protagonist is the pursuer in the relationship.
2. Crime-solving with a game-like feel; zero logic; the protagonist is impossibly awesome. Contains many NPC perspectives, and the earlier save files appear alternately.
Theme: Seeking true feelings
