The Girl with a Necklace on Her Teeth

Dorothy is nine years old. Everyone who knows her knows how sunny and confident she is. No matter what happens, she always smiles openly.

But if you went back in time and randomly interviewed one of Dorothy's teachers or classmates, asking what Dorothy was like before she became cheerful and optimistic, they would say, "I can't imagine!"

After all, for a long time after she started elementary school, she was quiet and reserved, and rarely spent time with kids her own age.

Things began to change last summer.
