A Sickly Body Welcomes Spring

Synopsis: The current Grand Secretariat official is an extraordinary beauty, peerlessly elegant, and someone whom the civil and military officials can't help glancing at more than once when they attend court. She once helped the empress ascend the throne, and can maneuver with ease both inside and outside the court. Deeply trusted by the empress, she holds immense power.

Sadly, fate is cruel to the talented. She passes away suddenly just a few years later, and the whole nation mourns.

No one knows that, when she was down on her luck, she was forcibly taken as a wife by Xie Qingqi, the capital's notorious wastrel and heir to a marquis's estate. Xie Qingqi tormented and humiliated her in every way, making her kneel for days and nights in nothing but thin clothes in the freezing snow. That left her with an illness that no medicine could cure.

After Li Huaiyin dies, the empress is enraged and locks Xie Qingqi in a dungeon to suffer every torture imaginable. In the end, Xie Qingqi has her kneecaps removed and is thrown by the roadside to beg, dying miserably in the street with no one to claim her body.

When Xie Qingqi arrives in this world, the future Grand Secretariat official is being beaten and cursed at by her underlings. Her body is covered in footprints and countless whip marks, her wounds still bleeding, her face deathly pale.

Xie Qingqi: Why do my knees feel so cold...

All Xie Qingqi wants now is to bow to her ancestors and thank her family for practicing medicine for generations. Now she has the chance to cure Li Huaiyin's chronic illness and save her own life.

But the Grand Secretariat official can't stand even looking at her, let alone letting her get close enough to take her pulse and examine her!

Later, after Li Huaiyin helps the empress ascend the throne and comes to rule over all, Xie Qingqi flees the marquis's estate in the middle of the night. But just outside the city, a troop of imperial guards surrounds her and escorts her to the Grand Secretariat official's residence.

Xie Qingqi trembles. Is she going to have her tendons pulled out and bones dug up?

The door opens. The Grand Secretariat official has hurried over, but all she does is carefully take Xie Qingqi's hand and press her own wrist against it, eyes brimming with tears. "Aqi, don't you want to treat my illness anymore?"

CP Scene:

Night has fallen. Red candles glow dimly in the room, which is filled with a faint pear fragrance.

Beneath the red gauze curtains, Li Huaiyin's eyes are faintly reddened, her dark hair spread beneath her. She presses one hand against Xie Qingqi and says hoarsely, "It's very late. Aren't you doctors supposed to care most about your health? Overdoing it... can't be good."

Xie Qingqi looks at her with a smile and slowly leans closer. "It's fine. We doctors know how to take care of ourselves."

The candlelight burns all night. Just before Li Huaiyin falls completely unconscious, she vaguely sees a faint light coming in through the window.

After Planting a Love Gu in the Heartless Dao Senior Sister

After an accident, Luo Qianling transmigrates into a cultivation novel as a demon saintess sent undercover to Yuheng Sect. Then another accident happens: she plants a dual-cultivation love gu in her senior sister Yun Jing.

Yun Jing is a once-in-a-millennium genius of the sect, said to have reached the Golden Core realm at the age of twenty. She is the person most likely to cultivate the Heartless Dao in this era.

As the name suggests, a dual-cultivation love gu requires the two people infected by it to cultivate together, and is the perfect weapon against the Heartless Dao.

Luo Qianling cautiously looks at Yun Jing. She has white hair and golden eyes, and is so ethereal and aloof that she looks like an immortal descended to earth. But several red threads wind up her slender, pale wrist, like vermilion drops of blood, binding her heartstrings.

The sect members are furious at the sight. Yun Jing's expression is unreadable, and Luo Qianling breaks into a cold sweat.

If she remembers right, the original owner died on the spot after planting the gu...

As Yun Jing approaches with her sword, Luo Qianling steels herself to save her own life and shouts, "Senior Sister, I can be your cultivation furnace!"

Everyone: ???

News arrives that the demons are preparing to launch a major invasion. Knowing her identity as an undercover agent can't stay secret, Luo Qianling flees home in the middle of the night.

One night, the door suddenly opens, and Yun Jing steps in through the broken moonlight.

Luo Qianling freezes, then instinctively says, "Senior Sister, let me explain---"

But in the next instant, she sees Yun Jing's eyes turn blood-red, her whole being seemingly on the verge of shattering.

The night passes. Luo Qianling has no idea how many times she's called out "Senior Sister" and "Yun Jing" in turn. At last, with her head buried against Yun Jing's neck, she says weakly, "I have a question..."

Yun Jing's gaze is gentle. "Hmm?"

Luo Qianling looks up resentfully. "Are you sure the love gu was really removed back then?"
