I Strive to Make Something of Myself in Ancient Times

Shen Yubai, an all-around young woman from the 23rd century, died in a medical accident.

A flash of white light, and she transmigrated.

Into a matriarchal world, no less...

She became a notorious good-for-nothing drifter in Taoyuan Village.

What! On her very first day awake, she learned she was getting married.

And to Su Manli, the famous little wretch from the neighboring village...

Shen Yubai hurried straight to her future mother-in-law's house,

swearing to save the poor girl from the misery of being with her!

Shen Yubai: "First of all, it was definitely wrong to buy you..."

Su Manli: "But... Mother said that was the bride price."

Shen Yubai: "Secondly, I'm no good as a person. I'm a drifter..."

Su Manli: "Mother said that a wife follows her husband, whether he's a chicken or a dog."

Shen Yubai: "...I can be violent!"

Su Manli: "Sob... You really dislike me that much..."

Shen Yubai: "..."

One year later.

Su Manli: "I'm all alone in the world, and you dislike me too. Maybe I should..."

Shen Yubai: "What are you saying, my dear? I... I... I was wrong~"

Su Manli: (smirks) (pleased) (proudly heads back to her room)

A wronged, seemingly meek but secretly cunning little wretch x a high-energy drifter

Watch them turn their lives around and thrive.

The river birds look whiter against the green,

The bright moon shines on pear blossoms.
