Blurb:
The aftereffects of a car accident have scrambled Jiang Lingjia's memories, mixing reality with illusion until she can no longer tell them apart.
At her most vulnerable, Pei Weixi is the first to set aside his company business and rush over to care for her.
But he cares for her so meticulously that he even pushes the hired caregiver aside.
"Brother, I really can go to the bathroom by myself," Jiang Lingjia says, refusing in alarm.
She's twenty, not two. Even real siblings should have some boundaries.
But Pei Weixi doesn't think much of it. "You didn't say that when you were little."
Can what she did before she knew any better really be the same as now?
After she's discharged and returns home, Pei Weixi still doesn't hold back, even with their parents right there. Jiang Lingjia feels terribly guilty.
A brother and sister shouldn't be like this.
After he pulls her into his arms in public yet again, Jiang Lingjia finally can't take it anymore. "Mom, Dad, don't you think there's something wrong with my brother?"
Her parents stare at her for a while, then shake their heads in confusion.
Jiang Lingjia's eyes widen in shock. She never thought even her family would accept this.
Pei Weixi senses something is wrong, narrows his eyes, and follows her upstairs.
Rain patters outside the window. The two of them face each other in the study, saying nothing.
The man corners her one step at a time. With nowhere left to retreat, Jiang Lingjia chooses silence to show her resistance.
"Did I do something wrong?" Pei Weixi looks down at her, waiting for an answer.
Looking at the large hand gripping her waist, she wants to say that this is already very wrong. But she can't move, and can only plead in a trembling voice, "Let go of me."
Whether in his studies or his career, Pei Weixi is always in his element. Only when it comes to her does he never know how much is too much or too little.
He truly doesn't understand what happened. She was the one who used to clutch his sleeve and cry, begging him not to leave. Now, for no reason at all, she is distancing herself from him.
It doesn't matter. Her big brother will be patient with her, as long as she stays by his side.
*The younger sister likes him but thinks it's hereditary sexual attraction and doesn't dare admit it.*
