1. Zheng Chiye is the CEO of Changye Pictures, the sharpest-eyed investor in the industry and a famous sugar daddy. He's slept his way from handsome film-school students to top-tier stars, and his reputation as a playboy is legendary.

Chi Ze is a young award-winning actor who rose to fame early. He's a straight man with a fear of homosexuality, and would happily spend eight days a week opposing it. He's repeatedly declared his hatred of gay people to the media and avoids them like the plague.

The two have been in the industry together for years, but their first collaboration nearly fell apart. Chi Ze's homophobia flared up, and at a dinner party, the famously aloof and taciturn actor took aim at Zheng Chiye three times in a single minute:

"Put out that cigarette. It's disgusting."

"You're late. Shouldn't you have to drink as punishment?"

"Finish it. Is that all the sincerity Changye can manage?"

Zheng Chiye was made to drink until he spent ten minutes clutching the toilet and throwing up.

2. On Zheng Chiye's 27th birthday, celebrities and industry heavyweights flocked to Changye Pictures to congratulate him. Chi Ze sent a gift with his assistant. In full view of everyone, Zheng Chiye opened the box to find HIV prevention medication, and his face turned green.

Gossip travels fast in the entertainment industry. The story of the award-winning actor publicly mocking Mr. Zheng for his promiscuous private life instantly became the hottest topic of conversation in the industry.

3. Later, Chi Ze broke his contract and withdrew from their collaboration midway through, causing Changye Pictures huge losses. It was originally Chi Ze's fault alone, but rumors that the investor had sexually harassed the actor and that the actor couldn't take it anymore somehow spread like wildfire.

As the controversy intensified, Changye's stock price plummeted, and Zheng Chiye was soon dug up and torn to shreds online.

"Move aside." The actor's voice was hoarse. "I'm his... husband."

Three years later, in a distant seaside town, the young shopkeeper whom the locals jokingly call the "beauty of the corner store" looks up from his phone, humming. "What can I get you..."

A man stares at him with dark, unblinking eyes, so intent that he seems almost frightening. "I'm not here to buy anything. I'm looking for someone. My partner, Zheng Chiye. Do you know him?"
