After My White Moonlight Wife Became My Nemesis

All the gods of the Eternal Heavens know that the Lord of the Nine Heavens Bureau cannot forget his deceased wife.

They say her death had something to do with His Highness Xi Huang of the Divine Severance Terrace. The two are sworn enemies, locked in bitter conflict, and their subordinates have followed suit, clashing at every turn and refusing to yield.

They fought for over a thousand years, until His Highness Xi Huang's old illness relapsed and left him on the brink of death. That same year, the earth split open in the human city of Pulan, killing thousands of innocent people.

The newly appointed soul-taker of Pulan City is a frail, sickly man who has to clutch his chest and catch his breath after walking just a few steps. Being tasked with taking in several thousand new souls nearly killed him on the spot. When he opened his eyes again, he had been thrown into a water dungeon to be punished for dereliction of duty.

At the damp, cramped entrance to the cave, a man stood silhouetted against the light, dressed in black robes and a golden crown. The long dragon-bone whip in his hand gleamed blindingly.

He thought the man was an underworld jailer and was about to squint and beg for mercy, but as the newcomer approached, his gaze slowly froze.

A stranger, and yet familiar.

Why did he have the face of the nightmare that had haunted him for days?

The Lord of the Nine Heavens, who should have been seated high above in the seventy-two Eternal Heavens, reached out and gripped his chin hard. His eyes brimmed with hatred, yet his words came out lingering and tender, soft as a whisper:

"Finally, you're in my hands, Yu Xi Huang."

"You damned, faithless bastard."

A gentle, lovesick, sickly beauty gong x the Eternal Heavens' number-one jealous king, a proud, sharp-tongued shou with a dark-to-light heart

I've read enough stories about enemies becoming spouses, so I wanted to try one where spouses become enemies, nearly ending in a bad ending.

Reader's Guide:

1. One-on-one romance, both leads are each other's only partners.

2. If you're uncomfortable reading this, please stop. No need to tell me you're dropping it.

3. I do not accept any form of writing advice.
