For the baby's sake, Song Lingsu had put a tremendous amount of effort into devising an incredibly detailed and meticulous plan.

But after one wild night, thanks to a twist of fate, the person sleeping beside him turned out to be Lu Yu, a peerlessly handsome man from a prominent family.

The roommate of the man he'd originally picked to be the baby's father.

Song Lingsu: "..." Sob.

As luck would have it, Song Lingsu discovered that Lu Yu got blackout drunk and forgot everything after a night of heavy drinking.

Lu Yu had no idea they'd spent the night doing this and that. When he woke up, he even asked in confusion if he'd gone to play with a cat the night before.

"That cat had pretty sharp teeth," Lu Yu said, rubbing the bite mark on his shoulder. His tone was hard to read. "Almost like a person bit me."

Song Lingsu swore up and down that a cat had bitten him.

After keeping an eye on Lu Yu for several days, Song Lingsu made sure he truly had no memory of that night.

And so, emboldened by his own wickedness,

Every day or two, he'd come up with an excuse to invite Lu Yu over for a drink.

Lu Yu never let his guard down around him. Night after night, he served as a baby-making tool, then woke up remembering nothing.

After successfully getting pregnant, Song Lingsu prepared to leave with the baby, satisfied.

The night he packed his bags, the young man was crouched beside his suitcase, checking his things. It wasn't until a human-shaped shadow fell over him that he belatedly looked back and met Lu Yu's smiling eyes.

He was smiling, but the warmth didn't seem to reach his eyes.

"Baby," Lu Yu said, effortlessly blocking every way out as he looked down at him. "Aren't we having a drink tonight?"

At first, Pei Xuexian hadn't quite gotten the hang of controlling his ears and tail, which kept popping out when he wasn't paying attention.

Fortunately, with the male lead's good fortune and the System's energy, no one else could see what made him different.

As he spent more and more time in the world of the book, he finally learned to control his demon form at will.

Then one day, in their cramped rented room, the male lead stared at him in a way he'd never done before.

Pei Xuexian had never seen the male lead look like that. A little panicked, he found himself backed into a corner before he knew it.

Putting on a brave face, he snapped, though he was all bluster: "What are you doing?!"

The male lead acted as though he hadn't heard him, lowering his eyes as he stroked Pei Xuexian's snow-white neck.

In the dim light, his expression was tender and yet unsettling.

"Kitten, where's your adorable little tail?"

The pursuer's perspective:

Yan Jue had always known he was just a character in a novel.

Everything around him bored him to no end.

So after countless failed attempts to struggle free, he simply let others mock him and tore up the so-called comeback plot with his own hands.

But he never expected that this world would have a little cat whom only he could see, touch, and kiss.

(Early on, the pursuer can see the recipient's demon form, but only he can see it. To everyone else, the recipient looks like a normal person. Later, once the recipient's energy stabilizes, the pursuer can only see it occasionally, and then he goes a little crazy, not.)
