Han Tang came home for summer break from university and got saddled with... a kid.
The kid is 1.8 meters tall, cool, and not much of a talker.
They say he used to be chubby and clingy as a child.
Now... he's still clingy.
Shi Yi is about to enter his senior year of high school. Because he transferred schools, he got the perfect three-no summer break: no homework, no tutoring, and no one to keep him company.
Luckily, his thoughtful and reliable parents arranged for an... old playmate to spend time with him.
The playmate is rather aloof, but surprisingly easygoing.
He just likes to tease his new bargain-bin little brother whenever he gets the chance.
That summer was so hot that the big yellow dog by the roadside panted with its tongue hanging out. They played whenever they could, while the sun was clocking out and the clouds were on the job. They rode a little electric scooter that was fully charged but still painfully slow, went fishing by the river, picked fruit in the orchard, and played ball on the crumbling court of an abandoned elementary school.
They remembered that summer for a long time.
So much so that years later, they still couldn't bear to let go.
Han Tang and Shi Yi
Easygoing, doting, handsome older guy and sincere, kind, cool puppy

My other ongoing work, Friendship in the Making, is being serialized in my column. Here's the blurb. Come check it out!
Zhou Tingshan is cool, aloof, and an outdoor photographer. All 365 days of the year, he's either traveling or on his way to travel.
Shu Wen'an is a gentle, handsome publishing editor who lives a simple life, commuting between home and work and content to stay in one corner of the city.
They have nothing in common, yet they've been friends for years. One never fails to buy a ticket to the same city wherever he goes in the world, while the other always has his house key tucked into someone's backpack, drifting around far from home all year long.
"One never comes home, the other never leaves. You might as well make a go of it," someone jokes. They exchange a smile.
"Teacher Shu has a great personality, a great figure, and a great face. He's perfect in every way. I wouldn't dare hold him back."
"Teacher Zhou is handsome and charming, beloved by everyone. Why would he ever like someone like me?"
Their peaceful, harmonious life carried on for many years. Just as they were approaching thirty, one kiss changed everything.
A racing heartbeat, body heat, scorching breaths, their breaths mingling...
When Zhou Tingshan came to his senses, he had left in the middle of the night without a word. Shu Wen'an sat in his room, bewildered, all night long.
From then on, nothing between them was the same, and everything had changed.
Theme: Hold on a little longer, and the world will come rushing toward us
So delicious! Tangtang and Xiaoyi want to be happy
"Han Tang:..."Catch a big bug for the author~ Shi Yi
"Han Tang's sentence" gave the author a big bug ~ it should be Shi Yi
Shi Yi's "Han Tang: I'm coming to XX on November 1st..." Really caught the author's eye~
Shi Yi "Han Tang added." This is a big bug for the author~
It should be "Han Tang said" rather than "Shi Yi said", which is a big mistake for the author~
I felt so deeply... I rushed out of the dormitory in five minutes 💔
I really like this way of narrating [Spreading Flowers]
