The Federal Marriage Law states that unmarried alphas and omegas over the age of twenty-five with a pheromone compatibility rate of 60% or higher must enter a forced marriage.

Cui Mingli, an idol in a boy band who can't sing or dance and has only his looks going for him, is forced to agree to an arranged marriage at the height of his career. He marries Fa Yansui, an omega with whom he has a 60% pheromone compatibility rate.

Fa Yansui isn't delicate or meek. He's a professional boxer who could knock Cui Mingli flying with one punch. Even his pheromones, which smell of strong baijiu, are intensely overpowering.

The Federal Marriage Law also states that, barring special circumstances, couples cannot divorce until they have been married for three years. In other words, they'll have to endure living under the same roof for three whole years!

Cui Mingli might be a good-for-nothing pretty-boy idol, but he's also a professional with a code of conduct. Even though he's been forced into marriage, he'll defend his chastity, body and soul, to the death. He'll treat his spouse like an ordinary roommate and nothing more.

So Cui Mingli and Fa Yansui agreed on three rules: First, their relationship must be kept strictly secret.

Second, neither of them can make any kind of intimate advances toward the other.

Third, whenever they're at home together, Fa Yansui and Cui Mingli must keep their pheromones under control, so they don't end up carrying each other's scent.

He thought this would guarantee there'd be no problems. But just a few months later, a photo of him and Fa Yansui taken outside a hospital went viral, with the caption: [Popular alpha idol spotted taking his sister-in-law to a prenatal checkup]

Cui Mingli's vision went black. He felt like the sky was falling.

The championship boxing tournament is held once every three years and is open only to adult professional boxers. Professional omega boxers are an endangered species in the industry. Across the entire federation, Fa Yansui might be the only one eligible to compete.

The alphas Fa Yansui had beaten couldn't accept it and challenged the judges, claiming an omega competitor would use pheromones to interfere with opponents. So if Fa Yansui wanted to compete, he had to prove he was married and had been marked.

For various reasons, Fa Yansui had regretfully missed every previous championship tournament. This time, he was determined not to give it up, no matter what.

Fa Yansui found Cui Mingli and made his request: “I want you to give me a temporary mark.”

Cui Mingli refused to the death, threatening, “I'm going to report you for domestic abuse!”

“Would anyone believe an omega had abused an alpha? Besides, aren't you afraid I'll post our marriage certificate online?” Fa Yansui had found exactly where Cui Mingli was vulnerable.

Neither of them would back down. The omega who wanted to be marked and the alpha who absolutely refused to mark anyone began a three-year standoff.
