Upright, clueless female lead x scheming, darkly manipulative male lead
Mei Aoxue, a genius sword cultivator, died at the hands of her friend Xu Heling, a pill cultivator who had fallen to demonic corruption. After being reborn, she discovered that she had become a pill cultivator, while Xu Heling had become a sword cultivator.
So when a group of demonic cultivators saw Mei Aoxue kick away the sword cultivator beside her, seize his life-bound sword, and go on a killing spree, they all wondered in unison: Are pill cultivators really this fierce now?
Mei Aoxue: Boo-hoo, I'm just a fragile little pill cultivator.
Everyone: ...Could you wipe the blood off your sword first?
Xu Heling: Ah, this sword is too heavy. I can't even lift it. Aoxue, save me.
Everyone: That's the first time we've seen such a useless sword cultivator.
Question: What do you do when you realize your rival seems kind of manipulative after you've been reborn? Oh, right, we used to be friends, then we fell out.
Answer: Your writing still loves him.
Mei Aoxue: ?
She secretly glanced at Xu Heling beside her. That did seem to make a little sense.
Xu Heling had to admit that Mei Aoxue was the only light in his life. He didn't want her to go out. After taking the demonic seed upon himself for her, the two of them fell out. From then on, he had only one wish: to die by her hand and return his life to her.
But he had still underestimated the power of the demonic seed. She died, and his heart died with her.
Until someone found him and told him there was still a way to bring her back.
The price was that he might die.
So what? He made his choice in no time.
The moment he saw her again, color finally returned to his world.
A few things to know before reading:
1. The male lead didn't kill the female lead on purpose, and he has never wronged her. Never. It's all a misunderstanding, all of it.
2. Both of them are immature in some ways, which is why they keep bickering.
3. It's kind of mutual pining (?). The male lead secretly loves the female lead, while she likes him without realizing it.
Core message: Before saving the world, become yourself.
