What's So Hard About Disguising Yourself as a Boy at an Elite Academy?

When Bai Wangshu arrived, the original had already enrolled at an elite academy disguised as a boy and moved into a room shared by three people.

Her roommate, Shen Ziqing, is tall, pale, peerlessly handsome, exceptionally intelligent, aloof and noble, and indifferent to women. He's the ultimate male lead.

Her roommate, Lu Li, is incredibly gentle and incredibly terrifying. His background is a mystery, and his disguise is a mystery too. He's the ultimate villain, top of the line.

As for the original Bai Wangshu, she's a spoiled heiress from a wealthy family, beautiful and fair-skinned but willful and self-indulgent. Ignoring her domineering CEO brother's objections, she is determined to become Mrs. Shen. In the end, Shen Ziqing throws her out, Lu Li schemes to bankrupt the Bai family, and the family of four meets a miserable end as cannon fodder.

Bai Wangshu, delicate and weak, the sort to fall over at a push: "Disguising myself as a boy is so hard, okay? Don't do this to me."

Then she turns around, buttons her uniform shirt shut, fills her days with books and assignments, and fights for first place in every exam. She gets ahead of the game by adopting the image of an aloof, brilliant top student who avoids girls, successfully disguises herself as a good-natured person, and gains a million fans.

But then comes terrible news.

One day, she wakes up groggily to find Shen Ziqing standing by her bed, holding a compression garment and staring at her darkly. "Why is this thing hanging by his bed?"

Lu Li brings her a cup of pale liquid and gently touches the rim to her lips, explaining warmly, "Looks like Wangshu doesn't remember. How about you drink some brown sugar water first? You climbed into my bed last night and scared me half to death."

Bai Wangshu: "?"

She fearfully lifts the covers, then hurriedly pulls them back over herself.

The secret identity she'd kept hidden for three years has been exposed.

But that's all right. Bai Wangshu still has one last trick up her sleeve: fake her death and disappear.

In the sixth year after she returns to wearing women's clothes, the Bai family retires to the countryside. Bai Wangshu and her domineering CEO brother spend their days climbing on roofs and fishing in rivers. Even the village dogs bark twice when they pass.

That is, until two new households move in next door, one cool and one warm, like the gate gods of today.

Bai Wangshu: "?"

So, was disguising yourself as a boy at an elite academy really that hard? Have you even been trying all these years?
