Sharp-tongued "straight girl" who only acts tough at home X charming, calculating sweetheart with a hidden dark side
Tan Yao had known Su Qingman for twelve years, a span covering half her life. Even her decision to enter the entertainment industry in her senior year of college had been influenced by Su Qingman.
They were the closest of friends, with no secrets between them. At least, that was what Tan Yao had always believed.
So when reporters pressed her about the scandal involving Su Qingman that had recently been making the rounds, she scoffed, dismissing it as paparazzi making something out of nothing.
That evening, though, Tan Yao couldn't get through to Su Qingman no matter how many times she called. When she rushed over, she saw the other woman caught up in the scandal stumble out of Su Qingman's room, her clothes disheveled.
Su Qingman stood outside the door, her gaze as cold as ice. A glaring smear of lipstick marked her collar, a frivolous shade that definitely wasn't hers.
"Looks like I came at a bad time," Tan Yao said, showing not the slightest remorse for interrupting their "good time." "Aren't you going to introduce us?"
Before she could finish, Su Qingman suddenly dragged her into the room as if she'd lost her mind.
The cold door pressed against Tan Yao's back. She found herself drawn toward the woman before her, whose body radiated heat, until the distance between them became dangerous. An overpowering scent enveloped her, their breaths mingling with suggestive intimacy.
Su Qingman took off the offending shirt stained with lipstick. The ice melted, and her beautiful eyes brimmed with moisture. Her voice softened as she made a rare, coaxing plea.
"Yaoyao, help me."

After their reckless night, Tan Yao quickly filed the unspeakable incident under "helping my best friend through a tough time." Next came her usual tactic: hiding like a turtle in its shell.
She chose a dating reality show where Su Qingman would absolutely never appear, planning to lie low for a while.
But things didn't go as planned. The moment Su Qingman appeared as a special guest on Beyond Friendship, all of Tan Yao's hopes came crashing down.
During an interview, Su Qingman openly explained why she'd accepted the job: "Beyond Friendship. Doesn't that describe my relationship with a certain guest pretty well?"
"Does it?" Tan Yao insisted. "She definitely doesn't mean me."
Halfway through filming, photos of Tan Yao and Su Qingman kissing were leaked, but Tan Yao still refused to back down.
"Yeah, Su Qingman and I kissed. What's wrong with best friends kissing?"

Later, when that night was reenacted and Su Qingman gently kissed the glistening moisture from Tan Yao's lips, she finally had her answer.
"Yaoyao, when best friends kiss, does that include that one too?"
