[Nonhuman Characters, Semi-Alternate Universe, Soft Sci-Fi, Don't Overanalyze]
★Humanity's top researcher vs. experimental otter boy★
★Extremely rational madman vs. stubborn, devoted puppy★
In the ninth year of wastewater pollution, human civilization teeters on the brink of extinction.
A little brown otter appears at a black-market auction in the base's lower levels. The auctioneer raises his gavel. "The last uncontaminated otter offspring at the end of this year. It has tremendous collectible and scientific value."
To find humanity a way to survive, Jiang Mei grips her bidding paddle. Someone tugs at her sleeve.
A drenched boy clutches her clothes. "It's not one."
Jiang Mei: "?"
The boy cowers, water still dripping from the tips of his hair. "It's not the otter they said it was."
"I'm the one."
Atata has never seen the sea. Born to be experimented on, he has lived his whole life in a square laboratory pod.
"The mother specimen is dead. This is the last one."
"This is our final chance. Inject the serum."
An electric current courses through his body. When Atata wakes again, the first thing he sees is a pair of human hands.
He has no idea where he is. He lifts the lid of his storage pod and slips out.
A beautiful shade of blue catches his eye. He staggers forward and wraps his arms around the person's leg. "Mama..."
Jiang Mei: "..."
In the first spring after reaching adulthood, Atata carries a blood-red rose in his mouth as he presses Jiang Mei against the lab table and kisses her.
Jiang Mei arches her neck, making no effort to hide her seduction. "Atata, you're an adult now."
A low growl rumbles in his throat. His eyes redden, and he gets rough.
Red liquid runs from her lips. It is impossible to tell whether it is rose juice or Jiang Mei's blood.
"Click."
Atata looks up and meets Jiang Mei's contemptuous gaze, her black pistol pressed to his forehead.
She wipes the vivid red from her lips and sneers.
"Atata, you're under arrest."
#The seawater keeps surging, and my life goes on without end#
P.S. What do you do when an otter won't leave you alone?
Not updated daily. This story is set in an alternate universe with lots of original worldbuilding. It's soft sci-fi, with no science, just imagination.
The author can't write sci-fi, doesn't understand science, and can't make things logical, so this story won't be very long.
Theme: Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility
This is my first time coming into contact with this subject. When I saw the tweet, I thought it was very fresh, so I clicked in. I like to leave comments, so I couldn't help but make a short and long comment. Don't be surprised if it's not good. As a human scientific researcher, the female protagonist studies uncontaminated sea otters, and the male protagonist happens to be the last one, and their fateful paths meet in a dramatic way. But as soon as he opened his eyes, the male protagonist called her mother, hahahaha, which made the female protagonist crazy and made me laugh. The male protagonist at the beginning, as a sea otter, is really innocent. The author really wrote about the timidity and innocence of an animal after it transforms into a strange world (I don't know if the word "transformation" is accurate here.). Let's talk about the part where the male protagonist is captured by the bad guys. The female protagonist is really handsome, and the portrayal of the heroine's character is also very good. The reason and wisdom of a scientific researcher are really charming. I really like career-oriented heroines, and there are certain qualities about Jiang Mei that really stood out to me. Let's talk about the author's writing style. There is no deliberate description of a large number of environments and the like. It is very visual. I have never seen many terms. (Forgive me for not having much contact with this area before. Maybe I should read more interstellar books.) But it is not too difficult to understand. Overall, this book is really well written, and I really like the interaction between the two protagonists and the plot. Although I am commenting without reading much, it does not mean that I have given up and will continue to follow it.
