[Daily updates. I'll take a break if something comes up]
Melodrama / rekindled love / both clean and inexperienced / includes high school flashbacks
1.
Lin Yao always thought that he and Lu Qiyang belonged to two different worlds.
They lived across the street from each other.
They pretended not to know each other every day until they turned eighteen.
After they turned eighteen, they fought over the blankets every night.
They were childhood friends who were nothing like childhood friends, and their relationship crossed the line from friendship for good.
This relationship was wrong. After all, in nature, lions don't consort with dogs.
"Don't come over tomorrow." Lin Yao leaned against the headboard, his forehead completely swollen, a cigarette he'd just lit in his mouth.
The next second, someone took it from him.
That morning, Lu Qiyang had just received a trophy for outstanding students from the principal.
Now he put the cigarette in his own mouth and expertly blew out a stream of smoke.
He bent down and bit the bare back beneath him, which was covered in red marks.
Wiping the saliva away with his thumb, he smiled.
"You say that every night."
2.
Seven years later.
The old apartment building had been demolished, and Lin Yao went to take care of the property transfer with his ID and documents.
Instead, he ran into Lu Qiyang again
with his young girlfriend.
The property office was crowded that day. People came and went, and the other man seemed not to have noticed him.
He only focused on straightening his companion's slightly rumpled collar.
From a distance,
they both looked poised and refined, the kind of rich people practically gilded in gold.
That was what people imagined when they thought of a couple.
But only Lin Yao knew that Lu Qiyang was the most shameless pretender he'd ever met.
Sure enough
On the evening Lin Yao finished the property transfer, someone was sitting outside the auto repair shop.
One of the shop's guys went in and out several times.
He came up beside Lin Yao and first called, "Bro."
Then he said, "That customer who came by the day before yesterday has been waiting for you here all afternoon."
"Ignore him." Lin Yao lifted a brake pad out, not even looking up.
"He's seriously ill."
