[Blurb]
When people die, they're gone. That's common sense.
She died and stayed here. That's reality.
Asakawa Shion failed for the fifth time to find her way out of this forest.
She lay down where she was, her own body right beside her.
She couldn't help sighing. Good thing she was a ghost now, otherwise she'd have worked herself to death.
She'd only come to conduct a social survey, then accidentally fallen off a cliff.
Her body was still in pretty good shape, at least. (Thumbs up)
It was just that her soul had slipped out and merged with something deep in the forest, leaving her feeling strange. It was like she was always boiling over with hostility toward humans.
What the heck? She was human herself!
She zoned out where she was, and after another sunrise, she heard the voices of two boys.
No way. Kids shouldn't be coming to a place like this.
Asakawa Shion went over and tried tugging on the sleeves of the two boys from behind.
Before, she hadn't been able to touch anything.
But this time, she could.
At the same time, the two boys turned to look at her with strange expressions.
"Eek! Sorry, did I scare you?" Asakawa Shion hurried to apologize. She didn't stop to wonder why the boys could see her. "It's too dangerous in there. Don't go."
The white-haired boy's expression grew even stranger. His mouth twitched. "You're the most dangerous thing in this forest."
"Come on, Satoru," the black-haired boy said. "It's trying so hard to fool us. Just play along."
"That's so rude! Why are you calling me 'it'?!" Asakawa Shion let go and crossed her arms, glaring at the high schoolers in front of her. "I'm human..."
"Are you?" The white-haired boy reached through the hollow cavity in her torso. "Since when did curses start lying through their teeth?"
"Huh?" Asakawa Shion followed his arm with her eyes. Aaaah! She'd forgotten about that!
Brain, get out here and come up with an explanation!
You're usually useless, but you need to come through right now, brain!
"It's, um... it's a 3D projection! I'm a projection!"
"Yeah, right. You're still holding onto my sleeve."
