Seconded to Another Office in the 2000S

Blurb: Kong Yaoyong, an ordinary man, is seconded from Lan Yuan County's Agriculture and Forestry Bureau for a full ten years. Half a year after a new director takes office, he is sent back to work at the Lan Yuan County Cash Crops Management Station, where he leads his colleagues into the countryside to live in villages and provide agricultural technology services. Thanks to his excellent work and the strong recommendation of a fellow townsman in leadership, he is selected for a secondment to the General Affairs Division of the Jinzhou Municipal Government General Office in Longyuan Province's capital. His job is to write reports for the city's top official, the mayor. He lives up to expectations, working conscientiously and diligently. After more than half a year of being tested by report writing and other duties on secondment, frequently working overtime and through the night, he makes rapid progress and is successfully transferred to the Municipal Government Research Office. It is a difficult transformation that marks a major leap forward in his life. A short scene: After lunch, he and Deputy Secretary-General Zhang returned to the deputy secretary-general's office. They chatted for a while about Wang, the deputy secretary of the Lan Yuan County Party Committee, Yue, the director of the County Party Committee Office, and the situation in Lan Yuan County. "Are you eager to start working here as soon as possible?" Deputy Secretary-General Zhang asked him. He replied, "The sooner, the better. The earlier, the better." Seeing how eager he was, Deputy Secretary-General Zhang considered this for a moment before telling him, "Come to work after New Year's Day. We'll bring you over on secondment first, to work in the General Affairs Division of the General Office. Once the formal transfer goes through, you'll work at the Research Office." Deputy Secretary-General Zhang then stated with confidence, "The unit doesn't have any housing right now, so you'll have to find a solution yourself." He quickly answered, "That's fine, that's fine." What other conditions could he ask for now? Getting transferred on secondment first was already the first step toward success. He agreed readily and cautiously, not daring to say anything out of turn, and repeatedly thanked the deputy secretary-general. Other completed works by the author: Please add them to your collection!
