After the Number One Player on the Server Enters the Game World

On the eve of the shutdown of the grand ancient-style MMO game Against the Immortals, Mu Qing logged into the character he had poured his heart into for ten years, the number-one character on the server, and spent the whole night standing in the rain in the starting village.

Then he opened his eyes and found himself inside the game!

Most importantly, Mu Qing's character System was still there. All his weapon skins, items, and even his home had been preserved.

Remembering the game's later stages, when the developers wrote a slew of pitiful NPCs into madness and death, and the world was left in ruins by the war between the three realms, Mu Qing knew his chance had come.

In the Fallen Demon Abyss, he found the young villain NPC, who had suffered endless humiliation because of his mixed immortal and demon heritage and would eventually turn evil. Wearing armor made of demonic feathers, Mu Qing descended from the sky and held out his hand to the little villain. "If you want revenge, come with me."

In the Eastern Polar Sea, he rescued a merfolk NPC who was about to have his eyes gouged out and his blood drained by demons. Disguised as a merfolk with a transformation pill, Mu Qing gently wiped the bloodstains from the other's pale face. "We're the same kind. I won't hurt you."

A year later, as the Demon Clan surrounded the Crown Prince of the Celestial Clan, who was fighting for a spiritual paradise, Mu Qing remembered that in the original storyline, the Crown Prince had been tortured to death, triggering endless warfare among the three realms.

So that day, Mu Qing appeared from the sky astride a qilin divine beast, wearing an exquisite outfit with a million special effects. Under the Demon Clan's fearful, suspicious gazes, he whisked away the Crown Prince of the Celestial Clan, nipping the war between the three realms in the bud.

In just a few years, more and more mysterious figures were being praised and respected throughout the three realms:

The black-clad Demon Lord who had helped Yu Linyuan become the Lord of the Desolate Mound;

The mysterious boss who led the merfolk in founding the Heavenly Garment Pavilion;

The featherfolk expert honored as a distinguished guest by the Celestial Clan;

And the great deity who subdued the great beasts of the Great Wilderness and summoned the waters of the Heavenly River to nourish the parched lands of the three realms...

No one knew that all of them were Mu Qing's secret identities.

After the last Springstone was placed in the spirit spring, Mu Qing gazed at the three peaceful realms, where rivers ran clear and the land was at peace. "I can finally find somewhere to retire in peace."

But the NPCs he had rescued back then all came knocking.

Mu Qing: "Why is it so hard to retire in peace???"
