Luo Linlang is K Station's most famous food creator.
On the day she quit, she was suddenly hired as a private chef for a family.
The luxurious villa had every amenity, but barely any ingredients in the fridge.
Luo Linlang thought:
Classic!
Her employer must be a domineering CEO with no appetite and a chronic stomach condition.
So she put fish maw tonic soup on to simmer with her left hand!
With her right, she started cooking a gentle yam congee for the stomach!
In her mind, she was already imagining the butler wiping away tears of relief.
"The young master is finally smiling! He's finally had a meal he can enjoy!"
She waited until midnight before a tired man finally returned.
He wore a pale smoke-gray Prince of Wales check suit, and the outer corners of his eyes, visible behind his half-rim glasses, were long and slightly upturned.
Standing there, he was as refined as a nobleman from an old aristocratic family, and as solitary as a cold pine on a snowy night.
Luo Linlang stared, spellbound.
Until the man spoke.
"Where's the fried chicken?"
He yanked off his tie, his voice impatient.
"Don't make all this fancy, useless stuff. Where's the fried chicken?"
Only then did Luo Linlang realize that Sheng Jian was a CEO unlike any other.
He wasn't picky.
He was a binge eater.
He had eaten the fridge bare.
So Luo Linlang had to make healthy, delicious meals and keep his portions under control.
Every day, she had to desperately hold on to the edge of a plate, nervously but stubbornly urging him, "You really can't eat any more!"
Her efforts paid off, and Sheng Jian's binge-eating disorder gradually improved.
But later, it was Luo Linlang gripping her skirt, embarrassed and annoyed, as she repeated the same line.
"Darling, I really want to listen to you," the man said, leaning over her, the tip of his tongue briefly flickering across his lips.
"But between appetite and... well, you have to satisfy one of them, don't you?"
A sharp-tongued, aloof CEO who is wild and greedy in every sense of the word, and desperately longs for a wife
A quick-witted, perceptive sweetheart who is exceptionally slow when it comes to romance, and nearly starves her husband with desire
(1) Both are sexually inexperienced, 1v1, a sugary mutual-pampering romance. The characters aren't jerks, the plot isn't angsty, and the couple are clingy and sweet in their everyday life.
(2) This is a food story! Chinese and international, ancient and modern, fancy and home-style dishes are all on the menu! Half the story is about food.
(3) Inspired by that joke about how concubines always serve the emperor soup and porridge. Once you're emperor, can't you just ask for fried chicken anytime, anywhere? I laugh every time I think about it, hahaha.
