If the Sea Had a Cause

Su Lin once met a boy with raven-black hair like feathers and delicate eyelashes.

The boy was aloof and spoke only when necessary.

A divine being, like a fish and a bird.

Before meeting him, Su Lin had thought about studying and about cultivating immortality.

After meeting him, Su Lin lived and died for him.

(My first completed novel. It was written many years ago, when my writing was still immature. I've brought it back, polished it, and am reposting it.)

Fantasy version:

A rebel of the divine clan is imprisoned in a palace in the sky,

with transparent crystal chains binding his limbs.

Half merfolk, half god,

he is sentenced to eternal imprisonment.

Ordinary version:

Su Lin always thought he was an ordinary person, at least until he met Chen Ze.

Then one day, a strange boy suddenly appeared in his sight.

The boy was proud and difficult, but he could also gently pick up a rabbit.

He was invincible, yet he would still weep beneath the flowers and moonlight.

Then one day, the boy encountered the Weak Water, and his legs transformed into an icy-blue fish tail.

Su Lin: "!!!"

Then, on another day, a pair of snowy white wings appeared behind the boy.

Su Lin: "So... are you a fish or a bird?"

Xi Hen: "..."

We met in the human world, embraced in the sea, and fell among the stars.

So I will love you with the whole ocean.

Theme: Life is full of possibilities and wonder.
