In all kinds of melodramatic novels, the male lead always has a pack of sycophantic friends around him.
They show up everywhere, from bars to banquet halls, showering the male lead with praise and flattery from every angle to highlight his noble status and formidable abilities.
Sometimes, they also have to act as catalysts for romance, revealing news about the male lead's love interest after a few rounds of drinks so the lovers can finally get together.
When Qiao Shu transmigrated into a book, he became one of those sycophantic friends.
An utterly unremarkable beta whose scent was as harmless as a cool fir tree.
And perhaps because the same background character had been used so many times, Qiao Shu had to play the sycophantic friend to four powerful men at once.
A get-together every three days, a banquet every five. Qiao Shu's nightlife was busy and eventful.
Easygoing Qiao Shu didn't mind, but he did run into one small problem.
He was allergic to alcohol.
So while everyone else clinked glasses, Qiao Shu raised his apple juice with a beaming smile.
Cheers!

At one bar gathering, round after round of drinking games brought the mood to a fever pitch. Qiao Shu sipped apple juice in a corner, quietly slacking off.
Since he hadn't had a drop of alcohol, he was still clearheaded, so he noticed the man sitting down beside him at once.
The man was tall and slender, his suit completely out of place here.
He wore a mask, so Qiao Shu couldn't see his face. His pheromones were well concealed, and Qiao Shu could only tell that he was an alpha.
The man didn't drink. He simply sat quietly on the sofa, seeming both refined and composed.
His presence was impossible to ignore. After a moment's thought, Qiao Shu held up his carton of apple juice and gave it a little shake.
