Xenotype Fever

Lin Yu had lived carefree for twenty years as a beta, until his family suddenly told him he was going to marry someone for the sake of an alliance. From beginning to end, Lin Yu had no expectations for this marriage alliance. He just wanted to get the formalities over with quickly, then go back to his peaceful life. That was until he saw his marriage partner outside the civil affairs bureau. Lou Shu was elegant and gentle, from a distinguished family, and not only exceptionally handsome but also an S-rank alpha. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that Lin Yu had been secretly in love with Lou Shu for a long time. - Before getting married, Lin Yu’s life had been perfectly peaceful. After the wedding, however, things gradually started to feel wrong. On his first day living at Lou Shu’s house, Lin Yu glimpsed an unfamiliar shadow in the bathroom. A month after moving in, he found dried mucus on his clothes. And he kept having nightmares. In them, a gigantic monster trapped him in a cage and dragged him into the freezing depths of the sea. Besides all that, Lou Shu’s attitude toward him also grew increasingly ambiguous. Lou Shu became more and more affectionate, always clinging to Lin Yu for long stretches and gradually encroaching on his life. Even during his rut. - Lin Yu had always thought that he and Lou Shu would get divorced soon. Until one night, Lin Yu woke from a dream, struggling because he was being held too tightly. When he opened his eyes, he saw a room bathed in bright moonlight. And the tentacles reaching from behind Lou Shu, wrapped around him. “After dawn, I will succumb to the frenzy of the otherkind.” A gloomy, socially anxious, curious beta bottom x a gentle yet domineering tentacled alpha top Mutual pining, a sweet little nonhuman romance, ABO. The top isn’t human, and may be a little yandere. A self-indulgent work, and something of a new experiment. A romance-focused story, with a little plot woven into a lot of relationship development. In my personal setting, betas also have pheromones, but under normal circumstances they don’t affect alphas or omegas. However, the bottom’s pheromones have a fatal allure for the top. Theme: Face your feelings.
