A foolish, clueless fake young master x a dark, unhinged real young master
Chu Zeyu dreamed he was the fake young master mistakenly taken in by the marquis's household. On the day the imperial exam results were posted, the real young master would be identified and return to the household.
What horrified Chu Zeyu even more was that, in the dream, he would die on a stormy night, killed by the real young master.
Chu Zeyu: No way. Absolutely no way!
To put his mind at ease, he followed the dream's directions and went to check for himself.
There, in front of a shabby brick house, was the real young master from his dream, sweeping the ground.
Chu Zeyu's heart sank. It's over. It's true. I'm going to die.
To save his own skin, Chu Zeyu decided to make the first move before the real young master returned home:
He would get on good terms with him.
But once they actually met, Chu Zeyu was so timid he couldn't even speak. A cold voice rang out above him: "You've been lingering around my house for days. Are you waiting for me to report you to the authorities?"
Chu Zeyu: "No, no! I just... just think you're handsome!"
The real young master's eyes narrowed, shadowed by menace. "Do you want me as your kept lover?"
Their first impression of each other was disastrous, but Chu Zeyu didn't give up. He shamelessly kept turning up in front of the real young master every day.
After all that hovering, on the night the imperial exam results were posted, he got drunk and ended up in bed with the real young master.
When Chu Zeyu woke up and found a man lying beside him, he chose to run away.

Having lived another life, Bai Langshan didn't want to repeat the past. But someone kept clinging to him.
That person was foolish and dim-witted, and the flies and mosquitoes around him were as numerous as the stars. They were an eyesore.
So Bai Langshan took the same path as before: he sat the imperial exam and returned to the marquis's household.
He drove away all the flies and mosquitoes around that person, coaxed him into getting drunk, and finally claimed him.
But the next morning, when he opened his eyes, that person had run away.
Bai Langshan stopped pretending. With a dark expression, he found him, knocked him out, and carried him away.
Chu Zeyu woke up groggily to a face dark as a storm cloud and cried, "W-what are you going to do?!"
Bai Langshan said coldly, "You."
Notes:
1. The shou really is a little dim-witted. He may have a character-growth arc later.
2. The gong is genuinely crazy, the really unhinged type, especially later on. He also loves messing with people and has a rather nasty personality.
Theme: Don't go around provoking people
