As the only red panda in a hamster family, Chu Lezhi doesn't own much. Aside from a little Western-style house in the old part of D City, all he has is a patch of forest in the suburbs that nobody wants.

To make a living, Chu Lezhi works all sorts of odd jobs.

Forest ranger, makeup artist, flyer distributor, mascot performer. He spends nearly every waking hour working.

Who knew he'd keep running into the same good-looking but seemingly brainless guy everywhere he went: Bian Ce.

Chu Lezhi dislikes crowds and wishes he could vanish every time they meet. But the man keeps coming over, calling him "little fan" over and over, until he even starts using Chu Lezhi's nickname.

Imagining Bian Ce's chattering face as a head of lettuce, Chu Lezhi is pulling the leaves apart before getting ready to heat up the wok when a voice suddenly comes from behind him:

These nuts are just as good as the ones I found in the forest.

Chu Lezhi, who had just accidentally poured half a pot of oil into the wok, falls silent.

What nuts?

From where?

Bian Ce is still grinning foolishly. Chu Lezhi's murderous intent grows.
