A Pitiful Little One, Doted on by Everyone [From Ancient Times to the Present]

An Fu was an orphan, raised by a beggar. He was a little slow-witted and worked as a pickpocket.

On his first day on the job, he transmigrated.

From a world of cultivation where the strong preyed on the weak, he transmigrated to the modern world.

Everything here was unfamiliar to An Fu: cars, planes, electronic technology. He didn't understand any of it and was like a country bumpkin who had just arrived in the city. Holding silver from the cultivation world, he worked up his courage and asked the owner of a breakfast shop to sell him a steamed bun.

The owner said, "Who are you trying to fool with that rock?"

An Fu still got his steamed bun.

Munching on it as he wandered around, he planned to fall back on his old trade and steal a book that could teach him about this world.

But he was a first-time pickpocket, and his conscience bothered him after he stole it, so he left behind a piece of silver the size of a fingernail.

An Fu carefully took the book and turned to leave, only to crash into a tall figure with a thump.

He looked up in alarm and met a pair of dark eyes fixed on him. The person before him raised an eyebrow and studied him suspiciously

They spoke at the same time.

"I paid for it!" An Fu, panicking.jpg

"You didn't check it out."

The other person: "?"

Lu Yanshu was the handsome second son of a wealthy family. He only wanted to open a bookstore and live a quiet life.

On opening day, his first customer was a cosplayer.

Dressed as... a beggar, presumably? Rough clothes, long hair down to his waist, but a very clean face, and... astonishingly beautiful.

He was also a little pitiful. He was so hungry he ate five steamed buns.

Later, Lu Yanshu, now aware of his wife's true origins, lowered his head, wrapped his arms around him with practiced ease, and kissed his cheek.

So what if he was a beggar? So what if he was a pickpocket?

He was still Lu Yanshu's wife! A gift from heaven!

An Fu was a country bumpkin.

Whenever he saw anything, he exclaimed, "Wow!" Even when he and Lu Yanshu were making love, he'd blush and let out a "Wow!" when he saw him.

"You modern people, mmph..."

Lu Yanshu leaned over and sealed his lips with a kiss, speaking through gritted teeth. "Baby, focus."

P.S. A sweet little story.
