On the way home from the hospital, Tong Yan casually tosses the medical report stating that his wish is absolutely impossible to fulfill into the "trash can" by his front door.
He's sick, and there's no cure.
Then the "trash can" spits out a round capsule toy. Tong Yan twists it open and finds a torn piece of paper inside, with the title written at the top:
Tingting's Diary.
A familiar, irritating handwriting.
Tong Yan frowns as soon as he sees the handwriting and the name.

Tong Yan has a sworn enemy named Lin Muting. They've disliked each other since childhood. Later, Tong Yan's family fell on hard times, while Lin Muting supposedly became the CEO of some pharmaceutical group. Tong Yan doesn't know, and doesn't particularly want to know. In short, he doesn't want to hear that his enemy is doing better than he is.
One day, a capsule toy machine suddenly appears outside Tong Yan's front door. He discovers that whenever he puts in a wish, the machine spits out a page from Lin Muting's diary. Lin Muting even gives his diary the childish title Tingting's Diary.
Tingting, my foot. How childish, Tong Yan thinks.

At first, he only wants to pry into his enemy's private life, so he keeps putting in wishes. But after reading a few diary entries, something starts to feel off.
"Should I go back and find him now?"
"I wonder how he's doing these days."
"I love him so much. Every day I'm away, I think about him."
"I can barely control my urge to kiss him anymore. I dream about him every day."
"I want..."
Wait, Lin Muting has someone he loves? And it's a man!
Tong Yan is shocked. He neatly arranges every page of Lin Muting's diary, trying to find one, two, three things he can use against his enemy.
Tong Yan admits he's a bad person. He has so little time left, so why not spend it making someone else's life miserable? Especially when that someone is his sworn enemy.

On the day Lin Muting returns to City A, he receives a phone call.
The caller arrogantly claims to have dirt on him and demands that Lin Muting do exactly as instructed. Otherwise, the caller says, he'll be on the front page of tomorrow's news.
Once Lin Muting recognizes the caller's voice, he smiles and meekly agrees to do what he's asked.
It starts with a small cake, then making him a meal, then accompanying him to the hospital... Eventually, Tong Yan doesn't even need to say anything. He realizes that everything Lin Muting does is following his wishes.

When the last capsule toy falls into his hand, Tong Yan turns around and finds Lin Muting standing right beside him.

Tong Yan senses something is wrong and tries to run, but Lin Muting has already cornered him at his front door.
"Tong Yan, I've loved you for so long. Can't you give me a chance?"

One day, Lin Muting happens to discover a capsule toy machine that has inexplicably appeared in his home. He puts a page from his diary into it, never expecting the machine to spit out the medical report for the person he loves most, showing that he has a terminal illness.
He decides to return to that place at once, find that person, cure him, and then confess his love.
