Jiang Nanshu is a delinquent who absolutely hates going to school.

Skipping class, gaming at internet cafes, late-night snacks, and video games are all his strong suits.

But his childhood friend, Song Qichuan, is the exact opposite.

He likes doing homework, memorizing lessons, attending extra classes, reading, and keeping pets. He's doing practice tests every day.

One day, he saw someone fall into the water and jumped in to save them, only to drown himself.

Who would've thought a delinquent like him would make the news for a heroic deed?

That same day, the hamster at Song Qichuan's house suddenly escaped its cage. Its head got stuck in the bars, and it suffocated to death. He had just lost both of his beloved hamsters.

Miraculously, Jiang Nanshu was reborn.

He became a hamster, specifically the one Song Qichuan kept at home.

"Hey! Qichuan! It's me!"

Song Qichuan was lost in grief. Hearing someone speak, he searched all over the house, then suddenly saw his own Campbell's dwarf hamster come back to life.

The hamster spoke to him telepathically: "Holy crap! Qichuan, I turned into a hamster! Look at my paws, my fur, for real... I don't dare open my eyes. I hope this is just a hallucination..."

Song Qichuan stared in shock. "Shushu... is it really you???"

The little hamster rubbed its ear with a paw. "Of course it's me! I don't want to be a hamster! Isn't this the kind of fantasy stuff that only happens in TV dramas?"

From then on,

Song Qichuan brought the hamster to class every day and set it on his desk.

"Squeak, squeak!" Damn it, why was he squeaking like a mouse? He wanted to talk!

Song Qichuan smiled gently and whispered, "Shushu, be quiet in class."

Shushu, little hamster... was this fate?

Jiang Nanshu hated classes and studying more than anything, and now there was no way to escape.

His body was so tiny, and he was even tied to the textbook. How could he run away?

Jiang Nanshu: "Qichuan, can you let me go home? Listening to this is giving me a headache."

Song Qichuan: "Study hard and improve every day."

Jiang Nanshu: "...I'm a hamster now, and you're still making me study."

Song Qichuan stroked his head. "No matter what you are, I just want to keep you by my side every moment. I don't want to lose you again..."

Jiang Nanshu's fluffy ears perked up. Was this right?

Was there still a chance he'd turn back into a human?

Bonus scene.

When their classmates couldn't finish their homework, they called the hamster over to chew it up.

When they didn't want to turn in their English tests, they put them in front of the hamster, and it chewed those up, too.
