[My next book, Moonlight Foreshadowing]: Aunt x aunt, two powerful women from wealthy families, reunited after a breakup. Please add it to your favorites.
An alluring, reserved Yue Opera prima donna x a refined, quiet young writer with a wolfish streak.
All-female cast, bottom's perspective, older love interest. Both are strong and complement each other perfectly.
As night falls and the curtain rises, love is neither the only thing nor the final destination. There are reputations to win, power to seize, and influence to wield.
Yan Huaiqing
A Yue Opera prima donna who enchants everyone onstage, and a dignified, self-disciplined troupe leader offstage.
No one could have imagined that such a disciplined, proper old-school lady, an artist with both talent and integrity, would be swept off her feet by a quiet, harmless-looking little screenwriter.
Right in front of the entire troupe.
Lin Zhixia
The troupe's new consulting screenwriter. On the surface, she's a refined, polite little wallflower. In reality, she's a little wolf cub who ran away from a powerful family, with a vast maternal clan of wolves standing behind her.
Yan Huaiqing wants to stage a new play, so she becomes the screenwriter.
Someone insults Yan Huaiqing, so she sets out to wipe out the anti-fans.
Yan Huaiqing needs resources, so she willingly becomes a pawn to promote her.
She never gives roses when she dates. She gives stepping stones, resources, and social status.
The first time she showed her claws and bared her fangs was in front of Yan Huaiqing.
She used her own power and the influence behind her to tempt Yan Huaiqing. Of course, from Yan Huaiqing's perspective, it felt a little coercive and threatening.
From secret crush to open love, she stakes herself on the game and patiently plots her approach. She just has to see whose heartbeat lies beneath that dignified, solemn exterior.
Love is lifting someone up. Love is two people complementing each other perfectly.
She is determined to raise you to the heavens, to see you shine like the moon above.
A little scene:
One day, after taking a shower, Yan Huaiqing shuffled to the bedside in her slippers. Lin Zhixia rose and pecked her on the lips. "Teacher Yan, would you be my doll tonight?"
Yan Huaiqing's lazy eyelids flickered in a silent question.
"You just lie still and let me do what I want... I'll be very careful." Lin Zhixia took a silk ribbon from behind her and slowly wound it around her hand.
Yan Huaiqing gazed at her fingertips for a long time before holding out her wrists. "Want to tie them up?"
Lin Zhixia smiled, kissed her, and led her to the pillow. Leaning close to her ear, she whispered, "It's to blindfold you."
"Oh. I understand." Yan Huaiqing found a comfortable position and lay on her side.
"Is that okay?"
"I already am."
A few notes:
One-on-one, happy ending, seven-year age gap.
Bottom's perspective, older top, with some role reversal.
Romance and plot in equal measure. Includes hidden identities and secret identities being revealed.
The opera elements are entirely fictional, so please don't read too much into them.
Content notes:
The story is divided into three parts: upper, middle, and lower.
The first part is about secret love, recognizing someone through an incident, sweet and refreshing.
The middle part is about emotional push and pull, recognizing someone through the person themselves, full of schemes and tension.
The final part focuses on their careers, complementing one another perfectly, with conflicting elements.
Each part has a different focus, and the style and writing differ slightly. Please read chapter by chapter. Whichever part you reach, it will end happily. Meeting each other is already beautiful.
Theme: Passing down traditional opera culture: the predecessors reach lofty heights, and those who follow carry it forward.
Second brush. Very nice to look at.
