Irate Office Worker Takes on the Chinese Entertainment Industry

Overworked policewoman Sang Mo transmigrates into a novel as a villainess notorious for scandals and obsessed with the male lead. The System tells her to play the original character and move the plot forward.

What? She has to stay in character 24/7 without getting exposed?

Sang Mo: I don't have the time, and I've only got one life to lose. I've already died once. There's no way I'm working 24/7 again.

What? The original character is the heiress to a top conglomerate?

Sang Mo: If I'm already an heiress, why bother moving the plot forward? I'll just quit the industry and go home to be a total mama's girl!

What? The male lead is a phoenix man? He took the heiress's financial support, but rejected her confession?

Sang Mo: That man is already dead to me. I won't fall for a dead man again.

With her delightfully unhinged mindset, Sang Mo should have been the contrast character on a brainy variety show. But during filming...

In an escape room, a rising star solves a Morse code puzzle.

The audience and fans: She's amazing! A genius! You can tell she's a college graduate. Nothing like that tacky, bragging, scheming woman.

Sang Mo: You glanced upward several times, rubbed your index fingers together, and your posture was too stiff. You knew the answer in advance and were trying to remember it, right?

That night, an overworked assistant beats the star at her own game, releasing chat screenshots showing that the manager and star had agreed on the answers beforehand.

In a card-drawing game, a highly educated actor picks the female game commentator and wins big, leaving Sang Mo's team in danger.

The audience and fans: A beacon of justice! Well done, handsome!

Sang Mo: You two have known each other all along, haven't you? You're pretending not to. And she let you win just now.

The next day, the actor's ex-girlfriend speaks out: he cheated on her during their relationship, then pretended not to know her on the show to make money.

In the final battle for the title of Brain Champion, the phoenix man tries to reason with her: The company gave me this opportunity. Why not take second place? We can both win.

Sang Mo: You mean the opportunity you got by accepting my help, then getting involved with your manager, pretending to be single, and living off someone else's money?

The phoenix man's scandal explodes, destroying his career.

After collecting her money, Sang Mo prepares to quit the industry and live as an heiress. But the company gets down on its knees to beg her to stay: Sister Sang, you can't quit! You're so popular!
