Does a Little Mountain God Have to Work Too?

Xia Xiaoyuan doesn't know how he was born. He only knows that he's the little mountain god of Wuling Mountain.

Every day, he waters the flowers and plants, breaks up fights between cats and dogs, and flips the old turtle by the river onto its back so it can sun itself.

One day, a little bird tells him that the mountain is going to be sold. They'll build lots and lots of houses, and lots and lots of people will come. Everyone will lose their homes, and even the mountain god's temple will be torn down!

The little spirits in the mountains panic. If they lose their physical forms, they'll disappear, too. And without the mountain god's temple, Xia Xiaoyuan will be homeless. As the mountain god, Xia Xiaoyuan decides to protect his home by going down the mountain to earn money and buy Wuling Mountain!

Xia Xiaoyuan sells vegetables and fruit after coming down the mountain, but the money he makes isn't even enough to buy snacks for the kittens and bunnies. He's so troubled. He needs lots and lots of money, but there's no way he can afford to buy Wuling Mountain.

The little bird says a rich man named Qin Su might buy the mountain. So Xia Xiaoyuan secretly gives him flowers and stones, hoping he'll decide not to buy Wuling Mountain and build houses there.

Lately, strange things keep appearing in Qin Su's room: wilted flowers, broken stones. Qin Su frowns and throws them all away.

There's also that strange boy who sells vegetables by the road. Qin Su keeps dreaming about him, telling him not to buy Wuling Mountain.

Qin Su successfully wins the bid for Wuling Mountain. The boy immediately clings to him, claiming to be a little mountain god. Qin Su assumes he's just crazy.

The pretty boy is a walking disaster, too. He gets conned into working illegally, then lands in trouble while trying to help someone. Qin Su has to bail him out time and time again.

Later, the boy stops appearing in Qin Su's dreams, and Qin Su finds himself missing him. When he tracks him down, the boy is hauling bricks at a construction site, wearing the pair of sneakers Qin Su bought him for tens of thousands!

Furious, Qin Su simply takes him home. The boy doesn't even have proper ID and is working for everyone else. He might as well work for Qin Su!

When Qin Su sees Xia Xiaoyuan talking to a bird that speaks human language, he is stunned. The boy really is a mountain god!

Whether he's a mountain god or not, Qin Su has decided he's his. If he wants Wuling Mountain, Qin Su will give it to him!
