Green

Jacob Green was a rational, outstanding college student. He hadn't yet figured out what he wanted from life, but his career goals were clear: become a lawyer, go into politics, or become a university professor. Everything was going according to plan until a letter arrived and shattered his quiet life.

The letter was from his younger brother, William. It contained just one sentence: [Beware of candy.]

When Jacob got home that evening, he found that sweet rain had begun falling from the sky, toothpaste tasted like ice cream, soap smelled of chocolate, and his bed was as soft and sweet-smelling as cotton candy.

A gauzy veil drifted away from before his eyes.

Jacob saw the world as it truly was.

Blood and the bizarre, witches and mysterious creatures, curses and lingering shadows, and them: the people who collected stories.

The rules of equivalent exchange never change.

One story.

For one soul.
