My White Moonlight Husband, Dead Since 1955

Su Huaiyu is a thousand-year-old red fox with a cool, aloof nature. Despite having countless admirers, he has remained single to this day.

Some speculate that Su Huaiyu already has a wife and children. Others slander him, claiming he is impotent.

But only Su Huaiyu knows that his beloved husband, the one he can never forget, died a tragic death in the depths of winter in 1960.

That was the last time Su Huaiyu saw Gu Beiyan. The memory has long since been worn smooth. In his dreams, all he sees is a vast expanse of snow, the northern lands sealed in ice.

For the long decades that followed, the two never met again.

Su Huaiyu's heart slowly died.

Until today.

As Su Huaiyu hurried out with a garbage bag in hand, he saw Gu Beiyan in a Zhongshan suit, kneeling by the front door with roses in one hand and a bag of beer in the other.

The man said, "I'm sorry, darling. I made you angry. These roses are from Comrade Lian Fangchun... Darling?"

Meanwhile, Su Huaiyu, feverish and wrapped in a coat he'd thrown on carelessly, said, "A-Am I... seeing a ghost?"

Gu Beiyan was born on the desolate far-northern ice fields. His eyes held tenderness for only one person: his beloved.

They were leaden gray, like the skies over his perpetually overcast homeland.

His name is Alexei. As for "Beiyan"... that was the name Su Huaiyu gave him during the flourishing Tang dynasty.
