The Demon Lord’s Late White Moonlight

Tao Guannan is an orchid plant who cultivated a human form under the protection of the immortal sect. He thought his life would be smooth sailing, but then a shadow barged into his hut on a rainy night and said,

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I only just managed to find you..."

Guannan didn't hold back. He beat the man and threw him out.

The next day, he learned that the man was an envoy from the demon realm, there to negotiate peace, and Tao Guannan happened to be representing the immortal sect.

Sitting face-to-face, Tao Guannan kept a straight face.

But that night, the man came back.

"Guannan, don't you remember me?" he said pitifully, peering through the paper window.

Tao Guannan replied, "Envoy, don't push your luck and bring shame upon the demon realm."

"The demon realm already has a bad reputation."

"..."

Tao Guannan slammed the window shut.

This went on for a long time. Whenever the delegation was there, the man showed up.

Tao Guannan had had enough. Closing the windows and doors didn't work, so in the end, with only a candle between them, he laid down one last remark: "Since you insist that an old friend of yours is among the immortal sect, Envoy, you should search for them openly. That's the only way to do this with dignity."

After those words, the man left in the pouring rain.

Tao Guannan enjoyed a few days of peace.

But half a month later, an unfamiliar face appeared at the immortal sect, claiming to be the Demon Lord.

What was the Demon Lord doing at the immortal sect?

He said he wanted to search for someone openly.

Reader's Guide:

1. Happy ending, past-and-present-life premise. The top has a very hard time pursuing the bottom, but once he succeeds, it's very sweet.

2. The plot leans toward Chinese-style horror, with episodic stories and an ensemble cast.
