After the Old House's Ancient Well Mutated

(This blurb is just a draft for now. More will be added later.)

During Lunar New Year, Shu Mushui returned to his hometown with his parents to pay their respects to their ancestors. To his surprise, the dry well that had been empty for over a decade now had water in it.

He took a bucket, intending to draw some water and check its quality. But when he hauled it up, it held more than water: there was also a strange fish weighing three jin. The fish clamped its jaws onto his arm, so on his very first day home, Shu Mushui was proudly injured in action.

His parents stewed the strange fish into soup. He hesitated over whether to eat it, then decided to give it a try. One taste left him utterly amazed.

How could this fish be so delicious?

After that, whenever Shu Mushui went to draw water from the ancient well, he always managed to bring up one or two strange fish.

The fish soon became the Shu family's favorite delicacy during the New Year celebrations.

Curious about the ancient well, Shu Mushui stayed behind at the old house after the holiday to investigate its secrets.

He had no idea which underground river the well connected to, but even after a water pump ran for a whole day and night, the well still wasn't dry.

He tried every method he could think of, and even more wondrous kinds of fish began appearing in the well.

Then one day, when Shu Mushui lowered his bucket into the well, he didn't bring up a strange fish. Instead, he caught a merperson.
