After Her Demon Lord Husband Died, She Found a Substitute

Hua Zhou, the Demon Lord who looked down upon the Six Realms, never showed his true face. Wherever he went, he wore a fierce, hideous asura mask forged from black gold.

As time passed, his image in the eyes of the world grew as ugly as the mask itself.

Even Shaojun, the Demon Queen, had never seen Hua Zhou's real face, not even on the nights they shared a bed.

But Shaojun didn't much care. There was no real affection between her and Hua Zhou, anyway. She had married him only because she had no choice, as a matter of expedience.

Then Hua Zhou died in a clash between the Six Realms, and Shaojun finally realized the truth: without Hua Zhou, she was as good as dead!

To save her own life, Shaojun boldly told an outrageous lie: the one who died was the Demon Lord's substitute. The real Hua Zhou was still alive!

Since Hua Zhou never showed his real face, she brazenly found a handsome man with a build much like his and passed him off as Hua Zhou, pulling off a grand deception.

By day, she continued to play the Demon Queen as if nothing had happened. By night, she trained the substitute to become the real Hua Zhou.

Just as Shaojun discovered she was pregnant, the real Demon Lord came back from the dead.

Shaojun trembled. "C-could you spare my life?"

Hua Zhou remained unmoved, his voice icy. "Finding someone to impersonate me would be bad enough, but you also carried on an affair with my substitute and defiled the palace. I can't think of any reason not to kill you."

Shaojun flew into a rage. "You were perfectly happy sneaking around with me every night! Why are you acting like you don't know me just because you've put on that mask?!"

Hua Zhou, whose memories were in disarray: "..."

So I was the other man all along?
