It's All a Misunderstanding

Zhao Xihe is a suspense novelist who has worked hard for years without ever becoming famous. Then a romance novel about a heroine abandoning the hero makes her an overnight sensation. But she would rather die than let the book become popular. She turns down every offer for publication or adaptation, and even changes her pinned Weibo post to say: This book isn't good. The hype is all paid promotion. Don't be fooled. The more she resists, though, the more popular the book gets, and the more famous she becomes. Then resourceful netizens dig up her past and discover that the heroine's story is exactly like what happened to her when she was eighteen. So she posts another clarification: Don't get too emotionally invested. The story is absolutely fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental! Later, Zhao Xihe is unlucky enough to get caught up in a string of murders, where she meets Liang Tuo, the criminal investigation squad leader in charge of the case. She's innocent, but still too nervous to look at Captain Liang's expression, feeling even guiltier than the real killer. "Um, it's all a misunderstanding..." Liang Tuo sneers. "Is it a misunderstanding that you seduced me and then abandoned me, or that you turned your back on me and pretended not to know me? Hmm, my great author?"
