[Football] A Reliable Defense Starts with the Goalkeeper!

Honestly, I just want to write about being a defender at Real Madrid. A good kid gets taught unorthodox tricks, both wild and proper: "Atletico Kid" is a hellish joke about Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, those bitter rivals. But nobody ever said God couldn't tell the same joke twice. From a goalkeeper in Atletico's second youth team, abandoned for his love of butterfingers and his bizarre way of thinking, to a beloved young prospect in Real Madrid's first team: how many steps does it take to become a defender who makes people tense up whenever they see him on the pitch? At their first meeting, everyone on the football pitch was fascinated by his switch from goalkeeper to defender. Nobody had faith in him. How could a guy who couldn't even catch the ball with his hands protect the goal with his feet? The people mocking Mourinho for picking up a bargain must think his back line drove him crazy. But Eureka Su proved through action that a defender who doesn't want to play striker isn't a good goalkeeper. He takes on several jobs from time to time, filling in as a midfielder or striker, and patching up this back line that looks like the Emperor's new clothes. What do butterfingers have to do with me defending with my feet? I've won the ball. My teammate up front can have a little taste of the chance I made. Wait, I fed him a chance, so why did our whole back line move up with him? Never mind, I'll move up too. Since I'm here, I might as well take a shot. It's all for the sake of peace in the locker room! In just one season, he stood out among a crowd of attack-minded defenders and forwards with astonishing goal and assist numbers. The striker who loses the ball every day: "Can somebody do something about this defender? The ball hasn't even reached your penalty area, and you've already stolen it. Then I turn around and you're right in front of my goal." The defender who can never let his guard down: "Wait, how did an extra defender suddenly appear in some nook or cranny of our back line?" The poor goalkeeper on the other team: "I hate attack-minded defenders, both ours and theirs." * Watching silently as a nimble figure dribbles all the way down the pitch, pulls off a gorgeous move, fools the goalkeeper, and gently taps the ball into the net: "Nice work... But nobody cares whether I live or die, do they?" Casillas's heart had just started beating faster after the reliable back line won the ball. Now it was as cold as the goalpost behind him. On the other hand, no goalkeeper can turn down the warmth of a full-pitch sprint and a sliding tackle to protect the goal. Eureka: "I've proved I can protect the goal with my feet, too." Content note: Yuri is of mixed Chinese and Russian descent. He lives in Spain, but changed his nationality to English for school and work. I love the Premier League's ahead-of-its-time mindset. They're at least a hundred years ahead of their time, and the mad little dogs will have a great time playing for the national team. At his club, he's an attack-minded defender, but a roaming little dog who doesn't hog possession. Once he's set up a chance, he sprints back home to guard the goal. He loves authentic Chinese food and playing a little mahjong, and he turns his teammates into troublemakers. His original dream was to become a legendary goalkeeper. As an adult, his CP will probably be either gentle Papa Casillas or fiery Hot Mom Modric. He has to cling tight to the midfielders and goalkeepers, or be a pair of mad dogs with Ramos, running all over the pitch and getting scolded together. Benzema can take the blame anyway. Theme: We can't decide where fate takes us, but we won't accept falling into ruin. We take charge of our own destiny!
