The upcoming novel, The Extra Juggles Multiple Jobs. If you're interested, angels, please take a look. Mwah, mwah, mwah.
Blurb
Shang Yun dies of lung cancer, then transmigrates into an infinite-flow community and becomes a daycare worker for monster younglings.
A human-faced System tells him that he must earn positive reviews from 99 percent of the monster parents to live in the community permanently. Otherwise, he'll die all the same.
Confident in his abilities as an excellent preschool teacher, Shang Yun, once known as a sunny, cheerful teacher, agrees at once. But when he turns around, he sees a group of bizarre little monsters sitting in the classroom, staring at him.
A spider youngling shows a mouthful of white teeth. “Teacher, can your fangs bite through a person's neck?”
A nesting-doll youngling pulls several little friends out of its belly. “Teacher, can you make countless copies of yourself?”
A young ghost asks, “Teacher, can I kill you and take over the kindergarten?”
The sunny teacher isn't feeling so sunny anymore. Smiling, Shang Yun pinches their mouths shut. “Sorry, but you can't. How about we listen to the story of Snow White now?”
By a twist of fate, Shang Yun accidentally enters a dungeon. With the dungeon's younglings causing chaos as they protect him (and sabotage him), he finds the fabled second key, said to suppress monsters' madness. He promptly becomes the target of every monster parent's attempts to claim him.
The Headless King says, “Teacher Shang, my dungeon was recently renovated. Would you like to come visit? And, of course, maybe look for a key while you're at it.”
The Spider Monster says, “Teacher, you know our little one really wants you to come to our place to look for a ke... I mean, to visit.”
Meanwhile, on the outsiders' forum:
Anonymous User 1: Holy crap, the last survivor in the Sea Ghost dungeon is a preschool teacher!
Anonymous User 2: I saw him in the Elixir dungeon too! I even saw him chatting with a monster. Seriously, did this guy get in through connections or something?
Shang Yun looks at the monster younglings, who are playing and squabbling and acting as familiar with the dungeons as if they were their own homes. “...They found out.”
When Shang Yun first arrives in the infinite-flow community, the monsters all think he's an utterly ordinary human. Until one day, they discover that the monster ranked first in the dungeons, famous for his coldness, is following him around and trying to hold his hand!
And that human actually swats him away!
The onlooking monsters: ? Why hasn't the monster squeezed him into powder, mixed it with water, and molded him into a little figurine for display?
The deceived Shang Yun wants to know the answer to that too.
Why didn't he grind the monster boss who disguised himself as an innocent young man, got close to him, and erased his memories so he could make him a preschool teacher into dust?!
The monster sulks against his shoulder. “You know I promised when I was little that I'd be your wife.”
Shang Yun, with his memories restored: “Oh. Could you get off me first?”
Before losing his memory, a lazy, seductive beauty; after losing his memory, a gentle teacher, Shang Yun, the bottom * Cheng Jianji, a pure-hearted wild dog who bares his teeth in the early chapters and later wears a secret identity and clings to his wife, the top.
Please note:
The dungeons aren't all horror. Raising younglings and clearing dungeons get equal focus. The bottom has no golden finger.
The top and bottom have only ever been with each other. Happy ending.
This is a fictional setting with no basis in fact.
Upcoming Novel
Angels, if this sounds interesting, please add it to your favorites. Please, please, please!
The good news: Zhao Yu has awakened a System because the story went off the rails.
The bad news: He's an overworked office drone and a random extra.
Worse news: The System orders him to go to the protagonist's side, flesh out the characters, and move the plot forward.
Zhao Yu: “...I refuse. This work-soaked world deserves to be destroyed.”
The System promises that once he brings the story to its ending, it'll give him a hundred million and change the death that was supposed to be his fate.
Zhao Yu reluctantly agrees.
He never expected the System to give him a rewind ability, drop the script, and run out of power.
Zhao Yu opens the script
Huge swathes are censored, the plot is in pieces, and even the male lead's name is blurred out. All it says is that he's a son of the Zhou family.
Luckily, the Zhou family has only one son.
Zhao Yu successfully applies for the job of butler to the Zhou family and dutifully starts playing his role:
Young Master Zhou: Why does today's foie gras taste so much like plastic?
Zhao Yu, bowing in his little suit: Young Master, it's from the food street... I mean, flown in from France. Maybe the goose was heartbroken.
He steps outside and immediately rewinds to order foie gras from another place on the food street, gritting his teeth in secret.
The chef is still a faceless nobody. He won't appear until Zhao Yu advances the plot. How can an office drone afford foie gras flown in from France?
After Zhao Yu has become a car mechanic through rewinding thirty-some times, a gardener who has repaired the lawn fifteen times, and a boss's assistant who has had to rewind ten times after buying the wrong tea:
Young Master Zhou suddenly grabs his hand. “Enough. I've already drunk it ten times.”
Zhao Yu nearly splashes the tea in Young Master Zhou's face. “?”
With more than half the plot behind him, Zhao Yu finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel. Then the Zhou family finds another son!
At the same time, the long-absent System finally comes back online. It sees Zhao Yu, now a fully capable butler, and screams, “This is a story about the real young master returning to the wealthy family and making a comeback! You've been helping the villain!”
Zhao Yu, who has become the biggest obstacle on the real protagonist's road to success: “...Can I rewind and start over?”
“Sorry, no. My advice is to run, dear.”
The male lead's perspective
As heir to the Zhou family, Zhou Shunyu reaches the pinnacle of power at an early age, becoming a rising star among the wealthy. But plenty of people in the shadows want him dead.
He lives cautiously every day and never shows outsiders the slightest sincerity, until one day he realizes he's eaten three servings of heartbroken goose foie gras.
And his new butler lied that it had been flown in from France, then secretly left the seller a bad review.
There are plenty more things like this. Stranger still, it seems he's the only one who notices. Nobody else reacts.
So he hides in the shadows and watches the new butler, busy as a little ant, fill every corner of his life.
Later, the Zhou family's real son returns, and the new butler seems to have realized something too. He's actually trying to run away.
Zhou Shunyu pulls him into his arms, his wicked nature coming out. “Don't run. I like you in a suit.”
Theme: Don't judge people by their appearance. Look at what's inside.
I've been hoarding it for a while, but why did I finish it so quickly? It's not enough.
