The Fisherman Doesn't Fish for People, and the Male Lead Is Digging Graves

[Third-person narration]

I was taken in for questioning after passing by the scene where a drowned body had washed ashore.

But the people who came to interrogate me weren't the staff I knew. They were a group of scientists in white coats.

The only young man among them had a cool expression and a calm face.

What the heck? I'd just seen him in Times: People a few days ago.

They came to invite me to take part in some major project, and tearfully insisted that I was the only one for the job.

I said, "Sorry, I want to retire."

Then they immediately changed their tune and dragged me to the interrogation room :)

A coroner holding the autopsy report smiled at me, his gaze like a tiger watching a rabbit.

What the heck? Another big shot refusing Heaven's call.

He asked, "May I ask why you were at the scene?"

Me: "Chumming the water for fishing."

"..."

"Three days ago, Li Mo, the victim, was seen loitering outside your former workplace with flowers in his hands. His body had multiple bruises caused by clods of dirt, and traces of gravel were found in it."

"So, Miss Ke Ze, were the pebbles you had with you also for fishing?"

"Skipping... skipping stones?"

-

I'm telling you, if you dare make me work and pick a fight with me...

I'll throw you into the sea and use you as fishing bait.

:)

-

Long story short.

They started bickering again. For the umpteenth time.

"Stop fishing, Miss Ke Ze. Why not try fishing for me?"

"A stranger from who knows where. All they know how to do is sweet-talk people while hiding a knife behind their smiles."

"Are we playing a four-character idiom chain? Is that what you're doing? Look at me, look at me, I'm super easy to catch."

"Does it have to be fish? Wouldn't a person do?"

"Does it have to be a living person? Wouldn't a dead one do?"

"Get out of here. Miss Ke Ze isn't a necrophiliac."

Wait.

Something strange seems to have gotten mixed in here.

Me: "..."

Me: "Wow. The corpse is talking."

Irreverent genius x bionic corporate drone, undead

Conscience clear x one moment of weakness

The story of a genius and a few unreliable men

Bionic machinery, an alternate sci-fi setting, melodramatic Mary Sue harem, unrestrained logic-defying abstract fiction

I'm terrible at blurbs. Just take a look at the story, okay?
