The Nonhuman, Seductive Bird Thinks I'm Courting It

The main story is complete. Recent updates have only been edits to fix some wording and typos. After accidentally falling into the sea and washing ashore on a deserted island, Lin Cixing opens her eyes to find herself face-to-face with a mysterious creature. It has a stunningly beautiful, pale face, like a vampire count from an old castle. That is, it would be stunning if the exquisite face weren’t attached to a creature nearly two meters tall, with huge, full wings and a body resembling some hybrid of a giant eagle and a peacock. A monster! Lin Cixing instinctively freezes, incredibly tense, unaware that it is also watching her with curiosity. Terrified, she flails her hands, strains her voice, and tries speaking different languages to communicate. The monster’s expression only grows stranger. The way a primate’s limbs sway looks remarkably like a bird’s courtship display. And so, the inexperienced big bird gets the wrong idea. This monster looks weak and ugly, and its courtship pose isn’t nearly as graceful or beautiful as those of the seabirds. But that doesn’t matter. She’s the first creature ever to court it! In recognition of her courage and enthusiasm, it decides to accept the courtship of this cute, bald little bird and protect its frail mate. … Reading guide: 1. The male lead has a human head and a bird’s body, with an extra pair of arms. Later, he will have a humanoid or human form. The heroine is tall and slender. The inspiration was an owl, along with the image of a huge, beautiful human face on the beach at night. 2. I’ll try to update daily, but I only guarantee that the story will be completed. 3. I changed the blurb because, as I kept writing, the male lead ended up robbing “people.” , My next romance will be: The God Is Confused, The God Loves You. That story has already reached the VIP stage, so I’m switching to an upcoming story about a tyrant and a centaur. In practice, the one after that will probably be either a monster romance with an overly abrupt confession or an Aromatic Alpha story. (It really depends on which one gets more saves. I’ve already worked out the main plot.) Here’s the polished blurb for the tyrant and centaur story: The first thing the Blood-Eyed Princess Lisa Evelyn does after ascending the throne is recall the teacher she once sent to the front lines. Then she arranges her own marriage. She wants her beloved military tutor, cherished lover, and knight who protected the kingdom’s peace, the centaur general Tobias Klalon, to become her king consort. He has no choice. … In the Empire, centaurs are regarded as inferior beings. Ever since the Empire conquered their territory 120 years ago, they have been treated as second-class citizens. So even though Tobias is one of the Empire’s finest military talents of his generation, a cavalry general blessed with divine power, the day after the princess confesses her love to him, the king immediately sends him to the dangerous front lines. Tobias thinks he will soon fall in battle. But he never expects that when he is recalled just three years later, the ruler on the throne will be his former student, Princess Lisa Evelyn. And the first thing she does after calling him back is demand that he become her king consort. Reading guide: 1. The heroine is a monster who doesn’t understand love, though I think she does love him. The male lead is very gentle by comparison. 2. Chuunibyou warning. The author just wrote whatever came to mind, yelling things like “blood eyes,” “tyrant,” and “the centaur kneels.” 3. Consider this a potential warning: the male lead wears a corset. I originally came up with this idea because the long stretch of buildup, starting when he was her tutor as a child, made me too lazy to write it. Then I saw a scene or screenshot from an anime or manga, I can’t remember which, showing a centaur wearing a corset. Oh! A corset! A centaur! Now I’m fired up again!! 4. There are some flashbacks, but they don’t take up much space. They’re mutually attracted from the start, though he is only her tutor in one subject, something like a Grand Tutor, and there is no romantic ambiguity while their teacher-student relationship is ongoing. 5. I don’t have a title yet, so I’m just using the character setup for now. Theme: Love knows no species, and love helps people grow.
