One day, Dan Xin realized that her neighbors were strange.

The people living to her left were a middle-aged man who lived alone. He was rarely seen, and whenever he appeared, he wore a black raincoat, plain rain boots, and a mask.

She noticed he only went out on rainy nights.

The people living to her right were a tall, slender young woman who left early and came home late every day. Whenever Dan Xin saw her, the woman had a broken sword in her hand.

She also noticed blood on the sword several times.

The people living across from her were an elderly couple who went for walks at the same times every morning and evening. Their favorite thing was taking their dog, whose name was "Son," for a stroll.

Late at night, she often saw "Son" point a knife at the couple.

When did Dan Xin first realize something was strange?

Perhaps it was when she saw the wanted notice for her left-hand neighbor in the news. Above the words "Serial Killer" in bold black letters was a photo showing the middle-aged man's face.

Or perhaps it was when she saw her right-hand neighbor flying on a sword above a lonely cliff.

It could also have been when she witnessed the elderly couple poisoning "Son."

After all, she had been confined to a wheelchair for years and couldn't get around. The only phone in her home was a landline, and she had no chance to go outside.
