Blurb for this novel:
Marriage in place of a sister + love after marriage + chasing the wife to the crematorium + dog-training romance + a mad beauty.
Cool, aloof swordswoman & jade-faced King of Hell
1.
As the dynasty neared its end, Ning Ci descended the mountain to marry into another kingdom in her elder sister's place. When the wedding party reached the outskirts of Yuzhou City, she saw Xie An for the first time.
Xie An, the invincible general of Yixia, left bloodshed and mountains of bones wherever he went. People called him the “Demon of the Living World.”
On the towering city wall, Xie An stood against the wind, clad in armor and holding a heavy sword. He wore black, with a subtle pattern embroidered in gold thread winding from the hem to his waist.
The sky rumbled, and sparks streamed down. She stood beneath the dazzling fireworks, gazing at Xie An from afar. Though she could not see him clearly, the sight of that figure made her heart skip a beat.
Only on their wedding night, beneath the bridal candles, did she understand why that figure had seemed so familiar. He was someone from her past.
Who could have imagined that someone as powerful and influential as Xie An had once been a captive, bought by her and kept as a guard in her household for two years?
Inside the gauze curtains, candles burned brightly. She pressed a finger to his lips and teased, “Aren't you fond of killing? Don't you ever show mercy?”
He pinned her against the carved pearwood bed, his breath brushing her ear. His clear desire was unmistakable in the deep darkness of the night.
“You are the exception.”
2.
After losing a battle and being captured, Xie An woke in a cage and met Ning Ci for the first time. In the bustling marketplace, the young woman looked at him from afar. That single glance became the calamity that would haunt him for the rest of his life.
Born into a military family, Ning Ci was a swordsmanship prodigy, from a distinguished household, gentle and harmless. He hid his identity and stayed with her, only to be forcibly taken away two years later.
He never expected that a marriage contract would bring the person he longed for day and night back to him. But gradually, he realized that she was no longer anything like the woman he had known.
Though the person before him wore plain clothes, blood had stained them a vivid, fiery red. Blood had spattered across her face as well.
A drop of blood ran down her cheek and fell onto his brow. Ning Ci smiled at him, utterly unconcerned. “Killing someone... How can you do it without getting blood on you?”
Blood mist filled the sky, and flames soared. She stood before him, her usually immaculate eyes sharp as a newly honed blade.
Qingyun left its sheath, its sword wind fierce. She gently lifted his face with the tip of her sword and kissed him, then turned and shielded him with her body.
“If you want to take him away, first defeat the sword in my hand.”
One-on-one, happy ending.
Coming soon next door: Back in High School as the School Bully
Blurb:
Also known as: She's No Good Girl / Wild Grass, Raging Fire
Ren Hao & Lu Ran
A stubborn, somewhat difficult, unconventional, chuunibyou beauty
A bold and passionate, occasionally cool-headed, unlucky popular boy who is good at pretending to be bad at school
A story about returning to high school and letting go of all restraints. A silly, comedic style!
Female lead's perspective:
Whenever Ren Hao looked back on the first half of her life, she felt she had lived it in a dull, stifling way.
Her parents expected a great deal of her, and she had lived up to their hopes, following the prescribed path to become the child they were proud of. But she was unhappy, because she had paid for all those achievements by giving up her freedom throughout high school.
She complained to a friend, who asked, “Do you want to go back to high school?”
She answered, “Yes.”
Her friend said, “All right. Then I'll recommend you to the principal as a speaker at our alma mater.”
Ren Hao: “Huh?”
On the day of the new student opening ceremony, Ren Hao returned to her old school as planned. Before she could even begin her speech, she was accidentally hit by something and blacked out.
When she woke again, everything had changed completely.
To her surprise, fate had truly granted Ren Hao a chance to return to the past. This time, she would be herself and live as she pleased.
And then she:
Got caught up in a fight after going over to watch the commotion, and unfortunately got kicked.
Tried to help a classmate in trouble, only to accidentally injure her leg.
Stood up for a friend, only to discover she had picked the wrong person to confront.
Ren Hao: “Uh... well...”
Male lead's perspective:
Lu Ran had enjoyed smooth sailing for over a decade. He had a happy family, an impeccable face, grades that were always average, and even good luck. You could say he had achieved a rare sort of balance.
Then one day, that balance was shattered. A girl barged into his wonderful life. She was as tough as wild grass, and seemed to be everywhere.
He got into a fight, and she was watching nearby when she got caught up in it and took a kick from him. After the fight, he even had to clean her up.
He climbed over the school wall to get out, and his clothes accidentally caught on the fence. He could have slowly freed them himself, but she happened to pass by and insisted on helping. Then she fell and hurt her leg. He had to free his clothes and immediately carry her to the hospital.
Someone asked him to deliver a love letter to his friend. He thought it was a matter between the two of them and refused. Unfortunately, she saw that too, and by the next day his reputation as a scumbag had spread.
Lu Ran: “You've ruined my reputation. You're responsible.”
,
Ren Hao: “My Hao is the hao in sweet wormwood.”
Lu Ran: “Your hao is the hao in ‘The deer call, eating wild sweet wormwood.’”
“The moment you arrive, you set the wilderness ablaze.”
Theme: A wise ruler governs the realm; a hero guards the land.
Xie Shu's love is so forbearing. He and the heroine must grow old together! I wish I could rush up to him and open his mouth to express my love for him!!!
The heroine is so free and sexy!!!
