He Came to My Class Again

Updated daily or every other day at 9 p.m. The full draft is finished, so it will not be abandoned.

For a new teacher fresh out of college, the scariest thing is probably having a supervisor observe your class.

No, no. Jiang Yuelin can tell you from experience: even scarier than being observed is being observed every single day!

After her class was selected for a research project, a new researcher appeared in Class 1(1): Gu Yuqian.

Jiang Yuelin once asked nervously, "Why was my class selected? May I ask what your research project is about?"

Gu Yuqian smiled. "Our team studies the challenges and concerns faced by new teachers."

The unspoken message was: You're new to the job and completely overwhelmed, so you're perfect for it!

He had not planned to interact much with Jiang Yuelin. After all, observing her quietly was the best way to collect authentic data.

He even told her to think of him as a cabbage, so she would not keep looking at him nervously while teaching.

But life is full of surprises. When he received her plea for help, when he saw parents criticizing her, when he looked at her chaotic lesson plan for an open class and did not know whether to laugh or cry...

A semester passed.

Jiang Yuelin asked in surprise, "How did this happen? The professor rejected the data you collected?"

Gu Yuqian gave a bitter smile. "The observation notes I took last semester weren't objective enough, so I had to put them to another use."

Even he himself could not say when his observations of Jiang Yuelin had stopped being objective.

"Will the professor be angry?" she asked.

Gu Yuqian smiled and quietly took her hand. "Luckily, I asked him to be our wedding officiant this time. That helped him calm down a little."
